Huge room Comfortable large bed Homely
Dirt track to get there - but still so worth it
The lovely hosts Sue and Mick made us feel right at home. The rooms were huge and comfy. They generously showed us round their dairy farm while doing all the farm chores. But what was also fascinating was the rich history of the site - the farmhouse is in the lee of an old motte and bailey. Sue and Mick have great stories about what went on there. There was a hearty breakfast with Sue's homemade jams. We had a great couple of days.
Well, we couldn't complain because it is very much a working farm, but it was the beginning of winter and the cows had just been brought in off the pasture, the silage was newly opened and the smell was indeed rich!
The building was a traditional farmhouse set on a working farm. The bedrooms were extremely large and full of traditional features. Bed and shower were amazing and breakfast was scrummy. Our hosts were helpful but not to imposing. Perfect location for Weston, Cheddar and surrounding areas.
The only criticism would be the satnav directions on the booking.com Web page are incorrect and the lane leading up to the property was full of potholes and if you had a any suspension problems or a low chasis car you would have problems.
The room is absolutely brilliant - large, relaxing, so British. The hostess is so friendly and helpful. So comfortable sleeping.
Location is not the best, the road to the hotel is too countryside.
The warm welcome, the enormous bedroom with everything we could possibly need. The choice for breakfast was extensive and very well presented.
The approach lane was very rutty but although we may not have liked it it is a working farm and everything else made up for this
The tranquillity of the setting, made very welcome and left to ourselves although hostess was available if needed. Brilliant cook, breakfast was perfect and delicious. Rooms and beds enormous and comfortable, very relaxing.
Couldn't fault it.
The beautiful rural atmosphere & the friendliness of the proprietor. Yet being, and feeling like I was miles from anywhere although actually just a short walk from town.
The rooms are large and the place is in a very quiet spot.
Was quiet comfortable good night sleep & good b/fast
A bit out of the way But ok for a one night stay.
breakfast was good. roomy bedroom. service was good
advertised wifi in the rooms but only coverage if you were in loungeroom or plugged in which is not possible with ipad. bathroom was smelly sewer smell which I got used to after a while.
Space and comfort of the room. Good breakfast and friendly, helpful host.
Warm welcome Huge room Excellent en-suite bathroom Very quiet Easy parking Wonderful breakfast choices, well presented. Generous beverage tray Historical property
Farm track to property ensures a bumpy dusty/muddy ride.
The silence, the comfort of the room the breakfast the decent size TV with a handset that actually worked and the free parking
Nothing at all
Could be a gold mine in the right hands
Comfortable room and bed, good breakfast. Very peaceful, historic atmosphere. Not the run of the mill B&B
The location is not Sat nav friendly best to put in Kent Ave WSM it will take you near the start of the drive. The farm track is not suspension friendly! House and garden looks down at heel, which is a shame because with some work on the garden and other touches it could be fantastic.
Very large, clean, comfortable rooms in a peaceful setting. The hosts were friendly, helpful and cooked a lovely selection of breakfasts.
A little scruffy on the outside (but don't let this put you off)
Dirty poor environment unkempt and definitely not a 4 star the tourist board should be ashamed of themselves this place has clearly not been reviewed for years !!!!!
The feeling of being completely distanced from the crowded insanity of Weston-super-Mare. The approach road offered an accompanying rhyne, with ducks, swans and dogs, but never another car. From my bedroom window I could see Carberry Hill, the site of a 12th century castle, and virtually nothing else. It was idyllic.
The fact that I couldn't stay longer.
Neglected premises. No wifi in room. Felt uncomfortable staying in such a neglected premise. Was looking forward to staying on beautifully kept farm like we had been driving past but this was just too untidy for me to relax in and not worth the money.
Lovely location, excellent service and very friendly owners :)
Very friendly atmosphere, huge room, massive comfortable bed, and everything worked. Everything was clean. Breakfast was great. For me the secluded location was good. And as a solo traveler the price was good too.
Very clean and friendly family breakfast brilliant
There wasn't anything
Countryside location. Working farm. Friendly welcome and attentive to guests needs.
Very big room with very comfy bed and love the sofa so can really relax. The owner and her mother-in-law were very welcoming, so were the dogs. Great breakfast and such a peacful location.
Perfect pit stop for us en route to Cornwall: great to find such a rural hideaway within easy reach of the M5 motorway! Will definitely stay here again.
