Good facilities, great location but transport required. Local buses and Lake Launch good for time of year. Would recommend you do not go at half term if you do not like children. |

The staff were all very friendly, the food was lovely ie meal at night and breakfast. The facilities ie leisure complex was good. I stayed one night as a treat and booked it because of the leisure complex. However I just felt it was a bit expensive for an overnight stay. However this was partly my fault as I had forgotton it was half term and the leisure complex was full of kids and so we weren't able to use the facilities to the max. |

Friendly and helpful staff. Good lounge areas. Excellent service in restaurant. Reasonable choice of evening meals. Excellent choice for breakfast. Separate parking: access, both for pedestrians and vehicles is dangerous (i.e on a blind bend. (there is a 20mph speed limit on the main road, but few vehicles adhere to it.) |

We are both mid 70s and have been unwell .We found the hotel such a pleasure to come back to after a day out. It was welcoming, and there were ample places to just sit and relax There was nothing we disliked. one very small ctiticism.Because there was a touch of frost, the mirrors leading to and from the car park, in the morning, were misted up making it impossible to see oncoming traffic I nearly had an accident. Being cleaned earlywould be very helpful |

The restaurant served excellent food from a good choice menu. All of the staff were helpful and friendly Oh yes! Everything that was an extra (except dinner) had to be signed for so all of that was above board. The dinner menu was laid out to infer that there were 3 courses with a sorbet or small soup inbetween starters. There was a difference of 7.5 Pounds Sterling betwen a 2 course and a 3 course meal. We were the "mugs" who paid 7pounds 50 p every night for 5 nights for a mouthful of sorbet75 pounds sterling overour 5 night stay. This left a very sour taste for the hotel and because of this we would not go back and would not recommend it, quite the converse ! |

The same high standard had been maintained throughout from the days as a family owned and run hotel (Lodore Swiss Hotel) that I remember dating back to the 1970,s |

The atmophere was relaxing and the hotel was comfortable. The restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and most helpful. The staff who cleaned the rooms were also very friendly and polite. The lighting in the bathroom was poor especially over the mirror. The staff on the reception desk were not as friendly and welcoming as the other members of staff that we met during our stay |

Excellent restaurant staff and amazing food. Reception staff were badly trained and unwelcoming. They did not recognise the booking I made with yourselves and tried to tell me that I had only booked one room. When I showed them the booking form which clearly showed 2 rooms they said that was wrong too! Eventually they did find the other room but it was a very poor start to our stay. |

Ease of access to walking routes. The excellent meals on returning from a day of energetic walking and the wonderful views from the front of the hotel. |

The public areas, facilities, breakfast, location, the staff and the cleanliness. There was nothing we did not like about the hotel, it was a fine wonderful hotel. The only thing I would say is that booking the hotel online, for the two nights we were there, there was no opportunity to be told that there was a wedding party already booked in for the first night of our stay and would that cause us a problem. This fact did spoil part of the evening as the wedding guests were obviously excited and noisy. I don't know whether hotels who participate in guests booking through 'Booking.com' could contact potential guest and advise of large parties also being in the hotel over their required dates. |

A very relaxing stay which was what we needed Some of the food was disappointing, as we own a restaurant we felt the chef was not very good with game meat and his rissoto was like rice pudding. The last night we were seated in an over flow area and forgotten by the staff |

The cleanliness, comfort and location are second to none. The hotel is beautifully furnished and decorated, with lots of quiet places in the public areas in which to relax. The service at meal times was occasionally a little slow and at dinner, one of our courses was missed out altogether. However, we did not find this to be terribly important as everything else was pretty much perfect. |

Nice nature. Good food. Beautiful sounds of waterfall.Nice staff. Breakfast times too early - this is supposed to be holiday! Pictures on web page too nice - actually there is a road near the hotel and the falls are not visible from any room. |

The politeness and efficiency of the staff. Ambience throughout the hotel and amenities of the leisure facilities. The convenience of having transport from the hotel made this a very relaxing break. limited vision of the traffic approaching from Keswick made crossing the road a little hazardous. |

Founded on the site of an abandoned 19th century gunpowder works and featuring carefully preserved reminders of its history, this estate offers a superb range of facilities. |
Situated alongside Coniston Water, with lawns running down to the lake shore, this wonderful Lake District property presents itself as the perfect getaway from everyday stresses. |
