Staff were lovely and very attentive. Rooms were dilapidated. Furniture was falling to bits and every floor board creaked with age.

The location was perfect for us as we were attending a birthday party just down the street. Our room was right next to the main street which was very noisy on a Saturday night, do not stay in room 3 if u want to sleep before 4am! Also for the price, I would've expected breakfast to be included considering the below average standard of the rooms.

We were very disappointed as the photos were much better than the real thing it was very noisy and the doors in the bar down stairs was banging until 3.30 in the morning. The rooms could do with a refit and bathroom was very dated and tired we would not stay there again or recommend it to any of our friends

Nothing Information on website indicates there may be 'some' noise but in actual fact it should inform guests -before booking - that the noise is very prevalent. The description of this hotel is totally misleading. Booking.com should verify hotel details before offering bookings. The upholstery in public areas very badly stained and torn. There were stains on bedroom carpet, dirt on bedroom walls, mould on walls in shower, unattractive bedding. The whole hotel is in desperate need of redecorating and cleaning. This spoilt our entire New Years Eve and would prefer a full refund.

Nice big room, clean. Whilst the rooms were clean, the bar downstairs was very dirty, tables not cleared etc. Upon arrival I came very close to walking out as I expected the hotel section to be the same poor state

This a PUB hotel and the bar is very busy and can be noisy. The room curtains were not 'blackout' and allowed a lot of light into the room especially at Xmas time.

As a single traveller on this occasion, despite being in my 40s, I quite enjoy a busy bar or club and the bar of the hotel is open until 3am on a saturday and gets filled with most of the Selby young population at sometime during the evening. Got chatting to quite a friendly couple who had popped in there after a meal. The Londesborough is more of a pub (with a wetherspoons feel) and some rooms above it than a hotel. Emphasis particularly on a weekend evening seems to be aimed at the local revellers than the hotel visitors. The chap who saw me to my room was very friendly and helpful and the room was a good size with a double and single bed facing out onto the main street. A large quantity of the Selby Christmas lights seemed to be located right outside my window which the thickest of curtains could not obscure when trying to sleep but otherwise the view was nice. The room and shower was adequate and fairlly clean. Probably as clean as could be expected when considering the age of the carpets and furnishings etc. The Londesborough has about 8 parking spaces right next to it which is very convenient. My only warning about this is that it is situated as part of the alleyway that leads to another of the towns key nightspots, the 'Griffin'. As a result the area is quite busy with young persons staggering between the two and enjoying the opportunity to make patterns and words in any frost or dirt you may have on your car. No removed windscreen wipers I hasten to add. Dining facilities are all in one with the rest of the pub so traveling alone I found that my table was 'grabbed' on 4 occasions during my meal while visiting the bar to get a drink or order a desert, or visiting the loo. The tables are not waited on, so you order each meal and drink at the bar as you require which is in another section of the pub away from the main eating area. When ordring a desert 10 minutes before the advised closing time for eating the bar manager firstly advised his assistant the kitchen was shut before I remonstrated and he reconsidered. Any assistance I required on any issues during the evening meant queueing 3 or 4 deep at the bar so I decided to stick around and have a few drinks myself.

The food was good value for money My weekend was ruined by the riot going on underneath our window till 4 in the morning. Ireally dont understand why they are booking people into these rooms when I was told this happens every weekend by a member of staff. On the booking it says some rooms may experience noise from the city centre which itook to mean passing traffic and maybe pubs emptying about 11 o clock but this was terrible the police were present and going from group to group of people trying to prevent fights, it was not an experience I ever want to repeat.

We stayed on a Saturday night and unfortunately for us the whole youth of Selby gathered on the paved area right outside and below the bedroom we were allocated. We were in bed at midnight, however, the Londesborough's bar clientele, followed by the night club attendee's gathered loudly in this area until they were moved on by the police at 3am. Consequently we didn't have the best nights rest and had a fairly early start on the Sunday.

Although small and limited spaces it did have a car park. Probably a good place to stay for a night on the town but not for a travel stop. No real reception. A reception area seems to exist but it isn't used. Had to take take luggage into the bar and wait for three people to be served drinks before we could check in. We were given our key and just told that we were on the top floor. Far too much noise outside at early hours coming from drunken people shouting and fighting, car horns at 1am etc.

it was easy to find, and the young man who met us was friendly and helpful to the extent of going with me to show me how to get into the car park. the room was clean and spacious the ambience was of a 'tired' property which has seen better days. registering was in the main bar, which looked and felt like an old fashioned public bar. while the carpet in the room was of a resonable quality, the carpets and decorartion in the corridors and stairs had seen better days.

Poor value for money. Fly spray had to be used to deal with the large number of fly's in the room. We would have driven home, but were tired following a long drive from a holiday in the Lake District. The noise made by revellers outside the Hotel that night did not stop until 04.00am in the morning which resulted in very little sleep. The hotel was shabby outside with rubbish in the car park and rear entrance to the Hotel. The hotel is situated in the older part of Selby and has potential, but we would never return in its current state.
