A modern friendly hotel, located on the A63 Selby Bypass, only 3/4 of a mile from the center of town, the hotel also has a bar and family restaurant with a children's play area.

Staff very helpfull, housekeeping cleaned and preped my room as I arrived early, thank you,
Very old building, this limits any upgrading of facilities in the rooms, no hair dryer,
The central location was ideal for our purposes. We were able to return late in the evening and no problems with entry
The location was good and food was good.
The noise from the disco was so loud we did not get any sleep until 4.30am. The hotel could do with a refurbishment.t
all the staff were very good and keen to help
the en-suite looked like it could do with a re-furb
Couldn't open window in room Very noisy in corridor Fire doors banging shut at all hours of the night and early morning Plumbing from floor above very noisy Food not presented as per menu
location really good - town centre. Food quality good. very under-staffed, kept waiting at reception and bar, but staff apologetic.
bedrooms very dated and shabby. We moved rooms twice because of poor housekeeping - stained matress, mouldy bathroom, dusty cupboards, even the kettle was dirty!!!!!
The room was good bed was very comfortable, the food was very nice and the location was great for town centre
Although the room was very nice it backed onto an alley which was quite noisy at closing time.
Music blasting til 3:30 Room wasnt very clean
noise,age inefficient staff
Cheap and cheerful. Helpful staff.
Excellent food, friendly staff, even parking too
Room tended to be hot and we couldn't open the window.
Stair carpet worn and dirty. Breakfast not included
Good room size. Next to abbey and open market
location don't feel safe. Old and not very clean and well equipped.
Poor booking in,serving at bar as well as trying to book us in.room had a cracked sink and peeling paint/artex on the bathroom ceiling.also when I asked for a taxi the gentleman was less than helpful.
Poor service all round,it was a pub with rooms not a hotel,I won't be using the Lonesborough again.
Great location next to the Abbey, nice bet garden and pub interior.
The accommodation was poor, uncomfortable and expensive. It was extremely noisy with the pubs nightclub and the market setup outside very early in the morning. With only single glass windows, sleep was hard to come by.
My friend and i arrived after a hard day watching the tour de France. We were going for an early start the next morning and told the staff we would be gone before 8am which was their first breakfast sitting. We went to bed at about 11pm and at 1130pm the hotel erupted. The night club which appeared to be part of the hotel was exceptionally loud and carried on continuously until 4am in the morning. My friend and i got no sleep at all and we reported this to the night porter. I do not believe this hotel should be allowed to rent out rooms on Thursday,Friday and Saturday as these are the nights when the night club is open.I am extremely disappointed with my stay.
I stayed only one night and everything was good - including the food in the bar and the breakfast. Staff were exceptionally friendly
Breakfast starting at 0800 hours is too late for normal working hours !!
hard to park up to ask how to get into hotel carpark need better instruction
The breakfast was excellent, but was not part of the package, and we were not aware of this until breakfast was ordered. The shower was adequate. The curtains were very nice.
The room (room 1) was dark and miserable. The carpet was well worn. The toilet did not flush. I tried another toilet across the landing and this did not flush either. The floor in the bathroom was very uneven. The pillows were cheap and nasty. Furniture was adequate. There was a sign for reception, but no receptionist at any time. This was just a pub and should stay just a pub. We were asked by the barman to pay on arrival before we saw the room, which we did. There did not seem to be anyone in charge. A very impersonal place, which we would never visit again.
This is a pub and they had disco and a lot of drunk people outside fight and shouting till 2 am when the police arrive. Also the toilet didn't flush properly and when we ask we were told manager would come to have a look and he never came. Would not stay there again.
Very noisy, there was a man drilling and sawing right below my window until 10pm and at 7am the bar downstairs appeared to be doing their bottle recycling which I think both is a bit inconsiderate
That's hotel was situated well and was only a 5 minute walk from the music venue we went there to attend. Staff were friendly and room was clean. The food in the hotel was of good quality and fairly priced. Breakfast next morning was lovely. Would definitely stay at this hotel again
The location of the hotel car park. Abit tricky to get too, but will know for next term where I have to go
I didn't realise there were still hotels like this!
the hotel was very central in the town, the value meals in the bar were very good two eat for £6.95 and lots of it. the staff were friendly and helpful.
the bed in our room has seen better days it sank in the middle, needs attention
Very friendky and welcoming staff and very reasonable barabd food prices
Menu needed a few more healthy options
