The location was good, just outside Hyde Park and the tube station 'Lancaster Gate'. The Island grill and bar opposite was great food, fantastic service...just what you need as the hotel food is dreadful. Absolutely awful do not stay here. Our room was dirty and old with a bad odour, most of the staff disorganised and rude. Food was a disgrace. When trying to politely complain the receptionist became verbally agressive. I politely paid, left and will never return.

The staff were friendly, the room was clean. Breakfast was enjoyable. Our room overlooked the main road/roundabout at Lancaster Gate. Because it does not have double glazing (due to being a "listed" building), the noise from traffic was horrendous and made sleep impossible. We tried to change to another twin-bedded room at the side or back of the building but unfortunately there was only one double room available and only one of us could stay. The General Manager was very sympathetic but without any other rooms available, there was nothing else he could do.

Excellent setting at the entrance to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens which we enjoyed as we go jogging in the morning. Also less than a minute walk to Lancaster Gate tube station and a bus to Oxford Street. Rooms small, but clean, and do the job. Reasonable rates for position. Continental Breakfast was very satisfying and the waiting staff were very welcoming. Sylvia, the receptionist who checked us in and out was very pleasant and professional. Dark furniture and doors darkened the room a little, but not a big deal.

Very helpfull staff, room #120 is a real spacious room, not like the usual 3 and 4 star city centre rooms which are usually no bigger than a bed + walking space around it. I counted no less than 14 sockets, a balcony, electric fire and a good 1metre practical clothing rail/wardrobe The menu in the Rosegarden is a bit limited but all dishes are fresh produce and it has a lovely atmosphere

Very good location, n easy traffic, just 1 min walk to Lancaster Gate Station. n the breakfast is tasty! The room facility is really bad, the shower hydrant can not supply the water in consistant temp, sometimes very hot, n it would turn to very cold suddenly, N the guest can not has hot water for drink in room by self, as there is not teakttle avaiable in room.

Every member of staff was courteous, professional and helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with everything in working order. Food and drink were excellent and the general ambiance was gracious and welcoming. The only thing we could have wished for were beverage-making facilities in the bedroom.

The bed was heaven and very comfortable. Endless hot water! Bedroom and bathroom were very tired and need sprucing up. Nets at the window were dirty and brown, very very old television with only 3 channels!! Worst of all no tea or coffee facilities in the room - I would have been even more unhappy had we paid the advertised rate of £200 for one night, £102 was bad enough.

The staff, breakfast and the location were excellent. I paid £68 for one night's stay including buffet breakfast (which was very good) so I will not complain. For the money I paid it was good. The room, however, was not the best, with torn wallpaer, stains on carpets and wallpaper and generally needed a paint. The bathroom was poor. As I said though, for £68 I put up with it, but if you had to pay the full rate then avoid.

The hotel is located in a strategic position, across the street from tube station and Hyde Park. The hotel staff is very friendly, rooms are clean and comfortable, and the atmosphere is very charming. The perfect place to stay if you want to spend a romantic weekend with your love.

Great location, and the bed was really comfy. Staff were really friendly and the breakfast was stunning. Waitress service was spot on 10/10. Disappointed that there were no facilities in the room to make tea/coffee. This is a must for any hotel really. Shocked to see a big patch of the ceiling in my bathroom hanging off. Attention to detail needs much improvement.

The hotel is nice, the room spacious, very good location. Good breakfast but they should consider to offer other yoghurt than low fat one... There is no kettle, tea or coffee in the room and it is a 3*, so everytime you want a tea you have to pay £2.00 for it plus the 12.5% service charge ! There was only 4 channels on my tv because they haven't upgrade yet, again 3* hotel ! I had to ask for the heating in my room, what is the point to have a valve on the heating if you can not regulate it yourself. The price for the room I had is normally £190.00, I will never pay that for this hotel !

The staff was very friendly and helpfully. I got a upgrad to a bigger room with a fireplace which was nice and big but as all other english hotel rooms, very old & used. But if you were often in London as I was, then you also know how diffecult it is to find a nice hotelroom to a fair price and not so long away from Oxford Street. Which is important for me (Im shopping a lot) and the underground/ subway Lancaster Gate is really close to the hotel. The breakfast is also ok, not the typical english breakfast with scrambled eggs and etc. but there is the basic stuff, which is good. I have also eaten dinner once at the restaurant (also where breakfast is served) and I got a really nice/good lasagne and ones I had lunch (I really great club sandwich) in the "Garden"/ terrace. My room at 3th floor was turned to the street so I had a problem to sleep because the traffic was very loud. The bathroom really needs a renovation ;o) but as I wrote ones before... I think I have tryed more less all the cheaps hotels around/ near by Oxford Street and the hotels standards in London is in general really bad but I think this hotel was all in one ok.

Good position, friendly personnel, lovely old-fashioned, no noise in rooms with yard-looking windows, English breakfast is enough handsome and tasty. Presents of a restaurant adds comfort if you are tired and have no wish to go out in the evening. Absence of tea arrangements in the rooms may be uncomfortable for islanders but less sensible for continental visitors. WiFi is present in the rooms and lobby but I was not able to connect my notebook even with assistance by personnel. Hotel's desktop was however helpful in this situation.
