Friendly reception staff. Breakfast was a shambles, to say the system was poor infers there was a system. I will say the food when we got it was fine however the process was mind boggling. You would queue for a buffet only to find that half the options had run out, so you would sit down, out would come a little more, queue up, oh no, run out again. The people that selected fried or poached eggs had those served to the table only to have to wait in line for the rest of the breakfast, and you've got it they ran, out so the eggs got cold. Not the service I would expect from a 5* hotel.

The views from our balcony were great Do not be misled by the spa/pool pictures as when we arrived and asked to use the swimming pool we were told it would cost £25 each. This information is not made very clear until you have booked.

We were there as we were moving elderly parent from Tenterden to Suffolk where we live so we did not have chance to use the full facilities of the hotel but what was on offer was wonderful and if we ever need to stay in Tenterden again it will be here. We would also recommend to others.

It was very convinient to where I was working - room was a nice size and the balcony a nice touch. The bathroom was very tired and there was no where to hang towels or dressing gowns after use. The charge to use the pool as a resident was the first I have ever experianced. Serving breakfast from 8 was also strange during the week.

Room was spacious with balcony and overlooked the golf course. Very quiet location even though close to main road. Relaxed atmosphere. Cost of room through Booking.com was far cheaper than direct with hotel. Charge of £25 each for use of spa and pool. If you want to just use the pool you still have to pay as we were told they cannot police the use of the spa.

Large room with queensize comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Especially liked the balcony overlooking the golf course but the table and chairs on there need upgrading. As mentioned above, more comfortable balcony furniture. We didn't realise we couldn't make use of the pool unless we upgraded to a spa weekend.

A wonderful hotel. Nice room and terrace overlooking the golf court - nature - bathroom nice and clean - everything you need - Food in the restaurant very ok Breakfast food was not that warm if I have to say something... They could'nt help us with an adapter - UK is different than Europe - while in the hotelbook was mentionned that you could ask for everything -even an adapter - at the desk.... 25 £ if you like to swim in the pool.....Pool is not for hotelguests but only for SPA clients...

The panoramic view from the balcony and the size of the room were the two outstanding features of our stay. The breakfast was good, and the bar food did not dissapoint either. As a sporting couple, we enjoyed the proximity of the golf courses, including the challenging pitch and putt. The cricketing memorabilia in the bedroom, and the cartoon portraits around the Long Room gave the place some real character. Considering my wife was pregnant, and could only use the hotel's swimming pool, the flat fee of £25 was unreasonable, and to price a dip in the pool at £50 for two people simply ridiculous. The mattress on the bed nearest the window in Room 206 was broken and very uncomfortable. The winter duvets were too heavy for this time of year (Summer). My a la carte dining experience in the restaurant was poor. The dish of lemon sole arrived covered in peas - a vegetable that was not even mentioned on the menu! The absence of asparagus - a vegetable that was supposed to be in the dish - and the dish's saltiness left me with no option but to make a complaint. In response, the overworked waiter offered a word of apology from the chef, a gesture I felt was rather lame to say the least!

Friendly staff. Nice view towards golf course from hotel room. Good breakfast. Free parking. Aircon noisy like ekspresstrain. Ekstra cost of 50 pounds to use swimmingpool for 2 persons. Not possible to walk the golf course before late night, if you are not a golfer. Unfriendly letter in room with big red letters, that if they discover that you have eaten or drunk anything that is not purchased in the hotel you will be charged exstra cost.

“Wonderful location, superb house and stylish/comfortable rooms. The owners/family went out of their way to make you feel welcome, very pleasant and friendly throughout our short stay. The B&B is in a lovely peaceful rural setting, Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast choice and quality of food was superb. We would definately go back for a longer stay the quality of service and choice of menu would rival some of the 5 star hotels we have stayed in, thoroughly recommended.” Paul, Kettering |
