The hotel is located conveniently at the Paddington station which is a great advantage as Padington is one of the main stations with direct link to airport by heathrow express and other statons. One hotel staff who checked us in was very uncooperative and rude. I had clearly indicated the king bed and selected same from the various available but was checked into a small bed (130 * 160) and he maintained, to my utter shock and dismay that this was the promised large bed. The room was shockingly small not more than 5-6 sq mts. It was fit to be a small store or janitor's storage space. The fron office staff refused to cancel the booking and said they would charge two night's retention in case I cancelled. The situation was resolved by a call to booking.com where Nick was very courteous and offered to cancel the booking if we were not satisfied with the alternative offered. We only opted to stay as the alternative room offered was better and we were in no mood to go through the search and shifting of place. But I will ask all looking to book this hotel to be vary careful about their choice.

Extremely noisy, sirens, alarms, dump trucks, bottles crashing, as next to st marys \hospital and McDonalds and major roads. Airconditioning thermostat on wall, but did not respond to dialling a change in temperature, so hotel quite uncomfortable hot. Could open a window for the cooler air outside but then noise was awful.

Staff were helpful and friendly The room was the smallest hotel room I have ever had to stay in. There was very little room to move about and it was unpleasant to be in. The lighting was also poor and it wasn't even possible to relax in the room and use the computer or read the paper. We spent as little time as possible there and will not book this hotel again. The image of the hotel and the rooms on the website were deceptive with the result that I fthen felt very disappointed when I arrived at the Mercure Paddington.

The hotel should not be described as a 4 star hotel. The rooms are extremely tiny. The family has used two rooms, one double room and one standard twin. The rooms are so small that no two persons can move around at the same time. As our stay was for 8 nights in total for two rooms, and at our insistence, the double room was 'upgraded' after the first night, but the room is still very small. The television is at one corner which makes viewing difficult. The beds in the standard twin room are put together to save up space, and the air conditioner is noisy throughout. For the price we have to pay, we will definitely not return there. We have used the Mercure hotels before and this one is a complete disappointment.

its location as we were travelling from /Heathrow the next day The double room I booked was extremley small. The double bed was pushed up against the wall so one person had to climb across the bed to get in. Two people could not get ready at the same time. Did complain but the front of staff didn't really understand!!! There is no way tho room should be discribed as a double room, it was hardly big enough for 1 person. Very disappointed.

Close to Tube and Heathrow Express. To Heathrow only take 25 mins... Souvenir shop is near by. Also food store easy to get especially Halal food. So many Halal food nearby the hotel. The in house(hotel) entertaiment also good even though you have to pay for it... No free wifi

Cleaness Very small room. No refrigerator in the room. I have been in this hotel 5 years ago when it was 3 stars hotel called (quality crown). I found it exactly same as it is 5 years ago with change only in name and it becomes 4 stars

Very clean room, nice complimentary toiletries. Room small but well designed and comfortable. Convenient location.Quality of breakfast good. Staff in restaurant rushed customers during breakfast, bringing hot food before people had a real chance to select cereals etc from the buffet table.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room considering how much I paid and the fact that it is a London hotel. The room was well furnished and equipped and was very clean. It had both opening windows and air conditioning and the location was ideal for an early get away from Paddingtom station to Wales the following morning. Staff on reception were very pleasant. The size of the room was small, but I was travelling on my own and was only there for one night, so this was not a big issue. This is not uncommon for London hotels though.

excellent location, friendly staff, spotless rooms, very comfy beds and excellent service.....wouldn't think twice about returning. don't really have any negatives- there were roadworks going on outside our room- but this was nothing to do with the hotel and if you're booking a hotel in paddington due to it's location you shouldn't really complain about outside noise!

Staff are helpful, location is good. I am paying 125 per night for a 4 star hotel expecting comfort and relaxation. I was given a very poor room probably because they saw I was a single guy. I changed the room it was better. The ac did not work until I had to call the reception twice to fix the problem. When I slept I heard the neighbouring rooms all night (which you wouldnt expect in a 4 star hotel). By the time I woke up I was not sure if I was staying at the Mercure or at a random hotel. I have stayed in the Mercure hotel in Brisbane, Jeddah, Bahrain, Birmingham, Sydney and Mebourne. Given that this is supposed to be a 4 star hotel it is by far the worst.

“Excellent staff and location, the staff are the No1 factor for a stay at this hotel. The location close to the city centre and transport connections is excellent. Oxford Street is within walking distance (15-20 mins) and Queensway is only 5 minutes away for reasonably priced restaurants. ” Gerry, Kilcock |
