The location is excellent. It's very near to the tube station. Travelling by bus is also very convenient, especially to the shopping centre. There is also cycle hire in front of the hotel. I stayed there around Christmas. Cycle hire helped me a lot on Christmas day when all public transport services were shut down.

No restaurant or room service. Breakfast was overpriced for what it was. Rooms were a bit loud.

The value of it. The size of the rooms. Two rooms for the price of one.

The lack of a cooked breakfast.

Reasonably priced by Central London standards. Clean and comfortable. Spacious room. Quiet.

A bit of a hike to nearest tube station. Facilities a bit limited.

Excellent hotel. Good staff, friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and well presented. Fridge in room is a great extra. Excellent location very close to Lancaster Gate tube station for quick access to the West End and central london attractions.

Breakfast was adequate and good value but there could have been a little more choice.

    The facade of the hotel.

I did not like the hotel and its service and was very surprised to find such a mediocrity in London. I was forced to pay as I checked in and not on checking out as it is the rule in most hotels where I've stayed so far. They argued that it was the hotel policy. La cerise sur le gâteau: I paid 10 pounds for the fare of the taxi that the hotel arranged to take me to Paddington station, leaving me in the wrong side of the railroad and having to carry my bags by hand because the escalators were faraway on the other side. The taxi had no meter. By contrast, the fare that I paid from Paddington to the hotel was 5.2 pounds. I have the receipts with me that can testify that what I am saying is true. Apparently, people running this hotel are not honest people.

Warm and comfortable for a family unit.

The room was a little run down with decor and the bathroom was very antiquated.

Excellent location. Lancaster gate is close (5min walk).

The room safe was locked on arrival. Twice told the receptionist, but it hadn't been fixed. Also, bulb burnt out, it was never changed even after complaint.

The room quality is acceptable for the price; very helpful and polite reception. Nice neighborhood.

This hotel, like all budget hotels in London, suffers from a lack of sound-proofing. So you sometimes feel that your neighbors are in the room with you. You can only hope that they're not too noisy and don't go to bed too late or get up too early.

Location and exterior condition and neghborhood were only positives

The hotel is clearly a converted house but poorly done with much deferred maintenance. Looked shabby and run-down. By way of example the wooden floorswere worn down and dirty and in need of varnishing. Petty minor expense to spruce it up but no one is putting the money in. Staff was foreign (as most are in London) but unpleasant and unknowledgeable. Also looked like they were playing a game by converting the bill into us Dollars and playing the spread on interest. Rooms were cheaply done and one on the ground floor was gloomy. We stieched to the Commodore the next night which is just a few doors down and had a much better experience even though we paid a bit more.

The location was great & the staff were lovely

It was the worst hotel I ever stayed in, very worn & tired & badly in need of refurbishment. I've looked back at the reviews since I returned home & I can't believe the positive ones are about the same hotel.
