This Victorian villa is set in a quiet location away from traffic, but just a 5-minute walk from Torquay town centre. Dating from 1876, it has free Wi-Fi and free parking on site.

Score from 115 reviews Very good
Excellent room, lovely breakfast, lovely garden and very helpful and friendly host.
Privacy, size of room, overall comfort level was good. Breakfast was adequate..............
lack of dusting in room especially around windows, which was more apparent when curtains were opened/closed-many spiders webs with many dead flies evident. Several flies flying around the room both evenings..................
Small bed was not great
Alex - nice chap, very welcoming and talkative (or not if you prefer). Will know lots about the area so ask questions. Our room - 3 of us in a lot of space. Great shower and bathroom.Even put flowers in the room! The House- lovely stone. Very obviously Alex's home so not an impersonal place.
Location-if you can follow instructions and a map all will be well, but very hidden, and narrow roads could be a problem. Not a place we would use for a week or more because other B&Bs more accessible.
Location great Friendly host
Our host was very friendly and the bedroom was good and spacious. Our dog was also made welcome and it was easy to walk her nearby. We walked to local pub with great views and good quality pub food. The breakfast was excellent.
Very narrow lanes to reach the village. Not able to lock door when going out.
The B&B was in a quiet location and the accommodation was large and comfortable.
Beautifully quiet location and a stunning barn conversion, with beams, for a vast bedroom. Floor to ceiling windows, to appreciate the dark night sky. V comfy chairs and our own private patio. Mini fridge useful.
Breakfast quite limited, with no menu and just fresh juice before our cooked breakfast. Previously, I had requested no egg, but that had been forgotten. At a much cheaper b&b, in Totnes, we had a far better breakfast, with fresh fruit, choice of cereals,Greek yoghurt, etc, as well as a full cooked breakfast, and a menu. Alex was looking at his phone while we ate. He coukd have been more engaged.
Food Location Interesting owner The Pub - the Live & Let Live Inn
Cleaning, but you get what you pay for
Setting, architecture and flexibility. Alex was very accommodating and friendly too. The place had a great feel to it and we would definitely stay again.
Quiet area with a small local pub five minutes away providing adequate food and pleasantries.Quick access to the moors and five minutes from the A38 for fast longer distance travel.
Alex runs an unobtrusive B&B which has its rewards and its issues. Not changing the towels for three nights, not keeping "house" in the rooms by way of dusting, hoovering or repair. As a vegetarian I had poached eggs only but my wife asking for further bacon on our last morning caused concern. One pot of coffee appeared the excepted standard also.
Great size room with very comfortable furniture. Great bathroom with a brilliant walk in shower.
Pillows were very soft
Quietness, comfortable bed, breakfast,
Narrow lanes to main roads
Alex is one of the nicest host we've met during our stay in Cornwall. The B&B is great!
Nice room, generally nice location. Visiting for wedding so can't comment in to much detail
Rude owner. Loo when flushed over spilled to floor - this was not pleasant and clearing a re-occurring problem
Alex is a very obliging and friendly host, our room was spacious and comfortable, the bed is heavenly!
Breakfast OK, one room had a comfortable bed.
Cleanliness generally poor, if you like dust this is the place for you. Hairs of previous occupants or animals evident in one room. Shower areas in both rooms not appealing, evidence of previous guests in one bathroom, no WI Fi in one room although advertised as in all areas, tea and coffee facilities poor, hazardous loose flagstone outside door, so called private patio has very old, tatty furniture, circulation areas untidy. Expensive so poor value for money. Very disappointing.
Bathroom was a disgrace - significant mould on tiles which had clearly been there some time. This was apparently on a 'list of things to do' - just not good enough. It would be a good idea to ask what we would like for breakfast rather than just put a plate in front of us. A disinterested host. I do not believe the previous feedback!
Room very spacious and clean.
For us personally, at breakfast, sharing a breakfast table, rather quiet atmosphere maybe some background music would help.Open jars of preserves. Lack of breakfast options offered although I am sure if guests asked for something specific Alex would try to oblige.
Perfect quiet location, lovely room with wet room style shower. Alex was friendly and chatty over a healthy cooked breakfast. Great weekend retreat away from everything!
attentive, comfortable, oak wood in room, airy breakfast room,
outlook from room was limited but fine for overnight stay
Alex was an excellent host making the best breakfast.
room facilities and breakfast, friendliness of staff.would recomend
central heating timer required adjusting for temperature conditions
