The location was beautiful, very secluded surrounded by lots of countryside. The hotel itself was very grand and spacious the perfect place for my 10th wedding anniversary. We were welcomed by the staff and there was an anniversary card waiting in our room which was very nice. The spa facilities were very clean and we had an hour complimentary use of the whole spa ad we were hotel guests. Dinner consisted of a 3 course gormet meal and afterwards we were given a bottle of champagne by the staff and management to celebrate the rest of our evening. A great place to relax, unwind and appreciate the beauty of Longhirst Hall we will certainly be visiting again next year.

The hotel is set in lovely grounds which are well looked after. The bathroom was very old and unacceptable for a 4* hotel.

It was a suitable base for a first time tour of the local area. The hotel offered all the amenities we required. Very comfortable, quiet room. We ate in the bar area on one occasion and were very pleased with the quality of the food and service. Although acceptable the bathroom was in need of upgrading. The complimentary toiletries were a welcome addition but could have been replaced daily. We liked the range of hot food for breakfast, but felt the self service coffee and tea facilities inappropriate. Fresh beverages served to the table would have been more acceptable.

Everything was nice. Great location, rooms were okay. But the rooms didnt feel too luxury. Rooms couldn't felt more luxury for the price of the "delux room"

My husband and i stayed at this hotel for our Anniversery and found the staff to be very helpful. The rooms were very clean and spacious but the bar prices were a bit expensive but would reccomend this hotel.

It is a lovely setting. The hotel bedrooms are begining to look a little tired with window seals blown, stained carpets and very small rooms. They take a lot of weddings and need to ensure that wedding guest rooms are kept separate from other guests. The public areas are OK, but bar can be noisy when the wedding guest are in between receptions!

Hotels in this Country are very hit or miss. This Hotel was a hit for us. Perfectly happy with everything. Clean, comfortable rooms, hot water and quite location. Set in superb grounds. Found the Staff very polite and friendly compared to what I normally find down South. Quality of food was excellent both in the Bar and Restaurant, freshly prepared and fairly priced. Would certainly recomend the Fish and Chips on the Bar Menu, very novel presentation. Breakfast also spot on with a good choice and constantly topped up. Plesant surroundings and ideally located for touring the area. :) No grumbles at all. However, if you spot any Red Squirels in the grounds as posted on the Driveway, please post it! :)

The building itself was beautiful and the area surrounding. Very peaceful. I requested some boiling water and cold water off the bar staff so I could make my babys bottle. He said he would get some but never brought any over so the baby had to have cold ready made milk. I dont like asking twice! Also, we ordered room service and although the member of staff could see there was a pram he spoke extremely loud.

A good venue for the wedding that we attended. The location of our room was poor as the view out of our window was of a grass bank and so far down you had to be up against the window to see the sky.

The setting was lovely Not as glamorous as on the website, did not change sheets for 5 days! Do not k ow how to make a bed. Don't stay if you know they have a wedding, very noisy! Very disappointed with overall stay.

The surroundings are very nice all the rooms and bars are very classy and modern but yet very comfortable and relaxing. Thought the staff could be a bit more friendly we were attending a wedding and am still waiting to get a smile, the maid who was cleaning the room was a great help and really bubbly there was no one at reception when a entered the hotel and the maid walked me to our room thank you.

nice location and friendly staff i wasn't impressed with the restaurant. Thw starters were cold and limited so were probably prepared in advance but still it took 15 minutes from ordering until the starters arrived - the same applied to desserts. I would give more marks for decoration than for food quality

Great staff, excellent food, fantastic value for money, superb location. General upkeep seemed quite relaxed, ie marks on the wall, easily covered with paint and the television in the room had limited channels and no dvd player. Only small things

This was an average hotel you had to pay extra for the spa, upper floor rooms are better with a view rather than looking at a green bank , very good breakfast but poor wifi !!!! Nothing flash but ok for one night. Saved £25 by booking with this web site Very poor wifi for iPhone 4s no reception for o2 in room 349

Poor customer service Unclean rooms Misleading as stated upon booking that we had full use of the spa facility to which we did not without an extra charge. Breakfast- table was dirty and food was not what was listed on menu and again very poor service.

Comfortable, warm and modern hotel complex. Well placed for Northumberland coast. The breakfast was good, the evening meal excellent. Very good value for money. Rooms were small. Although there was a spa the ultimate would have been a leisure complex with a pool.
