Warmth of welcome and attention at meal times. Spotlessly clean. Very adequate parking.
Everything. The people, the location, the food, the safe parking etc. etc.
So welcoming, Alan is a really good chef! We had lovely breakfasts, and the two dinners we had there were so lovely! It's a shame Caroline was on holiday for most of our stay, because Friday morning we met this lovely, bubbly lady! What a lovely couple!
Couldn't get the wifi in our 2nd floor room, but I could get 3G so it was fine anyway.
Great location (it really was walking distance to the Valley of rocks!), the room was at a very high standard and very clean, excellent breakfast. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Excellent stay, thanks again!
Very friendly and helpful welcome. Very good breakfast (and choice) and clean/comfortable room. Location is good, away from busy town center and 3 mins walk to Valley of Rocks. Also diagonally opposite the best 'pub' (The Sandrock) in the village where there is a v. pleasant 'local' atmosphere (Lynton is curiously short of nice pubs). Lastly...watch out for the stairs if you've got dodgy knees!
great location, great breakfasts, nice and clean
We chose Longmead House on the basis of so many positive reviews and couldn't have wished for anywhere more perfect. Alan and Caroline have got it absolutely right and we are already planning our next visit. They were so welcoming (without being overwhelming) and gave such attention to details, such as making sure there were plentiful coat hangers, tissues and a make up mirror in the room. They seem to really enjoy what they do. This made Longmead really stand out from all the other places we've stayed in. Everywhere is absolutely spotless, and immaculate. We've never seen anywhere so clean and neat. The bed was very comfy and the rooms were warm, well-appointed and cosy. The lounge was a real bonus as it meant we could spend time in the evening chatting with my parents (who also stayed), and there was a well-stocked honesty bar. We stayed for the evening meal one night and it was amazing and such value for money. There is plenty of veggie food on offer and Alan does a brilliant job in the kitchen. A restaurant could not have done better. We thought the location was perfect (Lynton is much better than Lynmouth as far as we are concerned) and there was plenty of easy-access parking. Longmead deserves the fantastic reviews. This is an exceptional place and a real gem.
Nothing! The top floor rooms are accessed via a fairly steep staircase so if you have mobility issues it may be easier to have a room on the lower floor.
Very accommodating when we arrived early. Very friendly owners. Lovely guest lounge with plenty of local information available. Delightful dining room and excellent breakfast. There is an option as an extra to have an evening meal by arrangement with the owners however we were unable to use this option due to prior arrangement for the evening, although the menu looked extremely good. We had a very enjoyable stay and found the owners the most pleasant people you could wish to meet. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.
The only drawback we had was the shower was lacking in hot water at the peak times which meant you could not shower until the pressure had returned to normal after the morning rush.
Food, Alan and Caroline were great, very clean rooms and very comfortable, great location
Nothing really. Maybe suggest a Tassimo to go with the honesty bar?
Food - the 3 course meal we had was an added bonus, beautifully cooked and presented and the breakfast was as lovely as we remembered it form a previous visit (plenty of it as well). The room was lovely and clean - piping hot water, comfy bed etc. Alan and Caroline were the perfect hosts and most of the other guests were really friendly and chatty (one couple were a bit miserable!)
The whole comfort of the accommodation,to include parking. Ideal location. Alan and Caroline were superb hosts and very efficient. The food is a very good standard. We too have high standards and the bed was as comfortable as our own, c/w feather/down pillows. Perfect. We shall be staying here again. It is nice to have such attention..Thank You, Jim and Ginny.
What is there not to like.? For the high standards that they achieve it would not be polite to be negative in any way.
Caroline and Alan are great hosts. Fantastic cooked breakfast with homemade bread. Great location. Good car parking area.
The breakfast was excellent! The location was ideal for walks to the valley of rocks and beyond. The owners Caroline and Alan made us feel very welcome. I'd like to thank them for all their hard work and attention to detail. We look forward to returning soon.
Very friendly couple, fab food, rooms exactly as stated & very clean, location excellent
Food was great Hosts were friendly and helpful
shower was a bit feeble and subject to hot/cold variation presumably when others used their showers
Caroline and Alan were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, the food was exellent and the welcome with tea and homemade cake was lovely. I would recommend this place to anyone
The owners were so welcoming And full of 'Joie de vie'. Excellent choices of breakfast meals and excellent exceptional dinner meals.
The friendly couple who run the place are very helpful. Excellent breakfast, very quiet at night. Coastwalks from there possible without using your car. Spectacular views along the coastline.
Good location, within easy walking distance to attractions. Very friendly couple running the B&B.
Room was a little small, however was sufficient for our needs.
Good food. Friendly staff.
Could not connect to WiFi. I could have reported this but was too busy to so do.
We had a great time there. Lovely family and amazing landscape!!It was definitly worth it.
Really good breakfast
No wifi signal on top floor
We were made to feel welcome, lovely and clean, tasty home cooked food, will definately visit again .Would recommend without hesitation.
the overall feel of the place
small bedroom, steep stairs
Caroline and Alan are gracious hosts who feel more like friends. In fact, many people return over the years because they are so personable. The splendid location and accommodation is outstanding. The food was delicious, especially Alan's dinner meals. They made every effort to ensure my best comfort, safety and enjoyment. I highly recommend staying here.
