A very good hotel with all staff being very helpful As it had been snowing, it would of been a good idea to clear the snow, but guests had to clear parking spaces. More salt availiable.

Was meeting up with friends and this was the nearest Hotel Stayed at this Hotel Friday 8th February the coldest month in the uk and there was no heating in the bedroom I did complain but was told there was a fault with the heating, I just don't understand how they can let out a room knowing of a heating problem. To say the bedroom was cold would be a under statement. Breakfast was served direct to the table Luke warm, now offer of tea, coffee or toast was made.

Stunning location and views from breakfast room all the way down the valley. Breakfast was ok from the buffet, as there was a conference on & and we were only people staying who we're not with the conference, but they did ring us to warn us in advance. Boiler failure on our second morning there, so no hot water. They did get it up and running pretty quickly I think, but after dressing & breakfasting, couldn't be bothered to then shower as we wanted to check out and get going. Nice ensuite decoratively, but TINY shower and noisy mascerating toilet, which I'm never keen on. No dinner available as they had the conference on, as it happened we were dining with family nearby anyway, but just to warn anyone else about their conferences & dinner not being available.

This was a lovely, comfortable hotel. The staff were very helpful and enthusiastic. I stayed for one night, whilst moving to Shropshire, with my dog and both had a peaceful and restful night. The food was excellent and I was so impressed returned with my husband for Sunday lunch on 23.12.12. Nothing.

Was not told of the wedding reception held on the last afternoon/night of my stay. It totally ruined my nights sleep and I will be forwarding a letter of complaint when I get home to France. The hotel ought to have a responsibilty to make sure all guests can expect a reasonable quiet nights sleep. What you ought to have done & didn't, is to mention the fact at the time of booking, that a wedding reception was to take place during one of the 2 nights of my stay with you, thus giving me the option of booking or not. I did complain of the noise at 10.30pm on the saturday of the wedding reception and was told that the disco would finish at midnight but in fact, I was disturbed until at least 2am and find this not acceptable.

Hotel was in an excelent located in its own grounds at top of a hill overlooking a valley and church stretton we choice is as break from driving down to ludlow staff were very friendly and helpful so much so they advised us of a wedding at the hotel before we arrived to let us know it could be a bit noisy which we thought thoughful. We would despite comments below have no hesitation to stay there again. What let them down was that shortly after 6am all hell let loose as the hotel fire alarm went off, we mean having to wake up out of a deep sleep and quickly shove few clothes on and go down the fire escape in the freezing cold however its not that which was my concern in fact it was good it worked ! however after finding out with 15 mins or so the cause of the alarm faulty switch on a boiler which resulted in smoke being emmitted they could not switch the alarm off ! it continued to ring until we could'nt stand it no longer so at 8.30am we decided to leave ... to be fair they offered us a complete refund of the hotel bill ... but as a notice says in the lift they have practices every wednesday so there should have been someone available who should have been able to switch it off

Quiet & very comfortable beds. After travelling all day and having our main meal at lunch time it would have been very nice if we had been able to order a sandwich or a light snack at the bar, instead we had to go back out to find somewhere where we could buy a sandwich on a very wet night.

Very helpful lass on reception who tried to help me sort my car after a harrowing journey. As a bad sleeper, I had the best night for ages( maybe helped by being too late for food but 2 pints of ale instead!!) The breakfast was as it should be - HOT plates, a great selection(inc fried bread which I've not seen for years) and real loose marmalade (not those prissy little pots so often encountered. I felt the young barman was too casual - long unkempt hair and shirt hanging out, but I guess it's difficult to recruit staff, and I'm of the older generation who still expect tidiness.

Stunning views from this historic landmark hotel. Friendly helpful staff. A real character hotel sympathetically refurbished and has everything you need. Good standard of food with big portions! Popular with organised groups of hill walkers.

Staff were friendly, room contained all items you would expect to find. Breakfast service was fast and plenty of choice. Nice touch in the grounds of the various sculptures. Good to see they are promoting cycling and walking as local activities and that you can hire bikes, etc and get packed lunches and hampers. Liked the touch at breakfast with the information placed on the tables about what was on during the day in the surrounding area concerning markets and places to visit, etc. The decor needs updating in public areas. Last went into the hotel 24 years ago for our wedding and the decor in the restaurant is still the same! Very dated. Should offer conditioner in the bathrooms as well as shampoo and shower gel. No view now from the hotel bar and lounge area down the valley towards Little Stretton, The hotel has lost a major attraction feature by allowing the trees to grow up and obscure the view. In my opinion it needs some money spending on it as it looks rather tired and jaded in places.
