Kenilworth
This family-run hotel was once the home of a wealthy Victorian merchant and great care has been taken to retain the building’s traditional character and elegance while incorporating modern comforts. In a quiet conservation area in the heart of Knutsford, just off junction 19 of the M6 freeway, the Longview Hotel is rich in original character and charm. Overlooking Knutsford Heath, in the heart of Cheshire's premier market town, the hotel combines antiques, prints and period decoration with contemporary facilities. All of the rooms are tastefully and individually decorated, each with their own unique charm. Wi-Fi wireless broadband internet access is available throughout the hotel for an additional fee. The hotel’s restaurant serves freshly prepared Mediterranean dishes in elegant surroundings, while the small, cozy and well-stocked cellar bar offers a range of drinks until late into the night. Family-run, this charming hotel takes great pride in offering a warm welcome and friendly, attentive service. Well-situated in Knutsford with comfortable quiet and reasonably modern rooms. I took a double for single occupancy at only £5 more than a single and that was good value. Trying to work out the shower controls without getting soaked in cold water!

Stayed here for a weekend while visting friends in a nearby town. It was only a 10 minute walk from the train station. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. This is not a Hilton or a Sheraton - it is a smallish independent hotel. As such, the facility is in three terrace houses. Our room was very comfortable and impeccably clean. We didn't spend much time in the hotel since we were with friends for most of the weekend. (We did not use the restaurant nor the bar.) The town of Knutsford is very pretty and quaint. All in all, I'd ceratinly stay there again. If you want to stay at a "chain" hotel, this is not the place for you.

Friendly, personal, immaculate rooms, nice big bath. The food was perfectly cooked and delicious. My room had a window into an internal well space. Although it had natural light, it was over-looked by other rooms. I would prefer a window with some kind of view.

Only It's location How can this be classed as a hotel? It's an old fashioned expensive b & b. My room had no window only a sky light and a 3ft high cupboard/ wardrobe.

The gentleman who greeted us and took us to our room was very pleasant and efficient. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good and hot. Good location for Knutsford, only a short walk to the town centre and to Tatton Park. Not dislikes as such as none of these things spoiled our stay but worth a mention to other travellers. Our room was the 'cosy double' and it was cosy aka small. It was up 4 flights of stairs (no lift) so I'd suggest you mention this when booking if this would be a problem for you. We were in the annexe building which is actually 2 doors along the row of houses. There is no internal door so you have to come out of the main hotel and walk down the pavement. There is an (old) hairdryer in the room but the cord is not really long enough to plug in and sit in front of the mirror whilst drying your hair. We only stayed one night and basically just slept here so absolutely fine but I wouldn't want to stay in that room for longer - did see other rooms on our way out which looked lovely, much bigger and really nicely done.

A two nights stay for the Tatton Park Flower Show, for which it is ideally placed. Very friendly and helpful staff - traditional well appointed rooms - excellent restaurant - comfortable - easy parking - plusses outweigh any negatives. I would classify the rooms as small, even thought we stayed in a 'premier' room. Prices were a tad expensive for a 2 star establishment and although the hotel has no control on this - it was a little noisy.

The room was very interesting and not typical of a hotel. Two things : First : The room was in a separate building from the dining room so got rather wet going to breakfast. Second : We were quoted £8 per person for breakfast but when we paid the bill it was down as £12. On querying this, we were told that was the charge for a full English (only continental was £8). This was not made clear when we booked.
