The Cross Keys is a family-run 18th-century coaching inn, situated at the heart of the pretty market town of Knutsford. There is free Wi-Fi and free private parking.
Score from 121 reviews Good
On route A556, near highways M56 and M6, the hotel offers comfortable rooms, free parking and a family-friendly Brewers Fayre pub-restaurant.
Score from 232 reviews Very good
A red-bricked, Victorian archway leads to The Mere's acres of countryside, 18-hole championship golf course and spa. Local produce is served on seasonal menus at the 3 restaurants and lounge bars.
Score from 188 reviews Excellent
Located just 3 miles from Knutsford and the M6 Motorway’s junction 19, ibis Budget Knutsford features non-smoking accommodation with free WiFi available throughout the hotel.

Not a lot
Room extremely small and the bed consisted of two mattresses stacked on top of each other. This is just unacceptable.
Friendly atmosphere, helpful staff, who made us feel very much at home
Felt that the breakfast was a bit overpriced.
Good location. Nice change from corporate hotels
Breakfast very disappointing for the price
The room decor, the bed was comfortable.
Squeaky floor boards, doors were loud, jacuzzi didn't work
Excellent location. Polite and helpful staff
The room itself was very dated and in need of refurbishment. Poor standard of overall room quality in comparison to other hotels on a similar budget.
Lovely spacious bathroom and wonderful, comfy bed.
We didn't have breakfast there because it was outside our price comfort but it sounded very nice if one likes a big breakfast.
Great location. I was staying in Knutsford to visit Tatton Park. The entrance to the Park was a five minute walk from the hotel.
The sheets and towels had an overpowering perfume smell. Strong scented laundry detergent perhaps.
The cleanliness and the friendly staff, the comfortable room, and the fan on the ceiling!
It still felt like a terraced house - quite small, and our room was four sets of stairs up. the breakfast was very disappointing - £15 per head (since I am a café owner, I know its not an expensive meal to provide!) and the full breakfast was one rasher of bacon, one sausage, one egg, half a tomato, mushrooms and some beans. And we had to make our own toast. We charge £3.95 for double the amount!!
Excellent bathroom facilities. Comfortable bed. Helpful staff. Convenient location.
Short window for breakfast.
Location good Young man on reception very helpfull
The room was small, hot and claustrophobic Service at breakfast not good and overpriced for what it was
The individuality of the hotel a nice change to the chain hotels. It was warm cosy great comfy bed. I woke up feeling refreshed. The room was really nicely decorated and immaculately clean. I was very happy in this room with my husband. The staff were also so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend to anyone.
It was perfect
For the price of the room, there is really nothing to complaint about. (Breakfast was extra)
The continental breakfast has been a little poor. Better go into a cafe.
It was very well appointed, the staff were very kind and helpful,The food was excellent I was surprised to find this was only 2Star it should at least be 3
There was not a thing I disliked
good quality throughout obliging staff excellent location
we paid £140 for a suite which is quite expensive for this accomodation but my main dislike was the attitude of a b and b.for example ,a notice in the dining room that food is for consumption there only,a notice in the bedroom saying take-aways are not allowed and finally when checking out i was asked if both of us had had the one breakfast.all very understandable i am sure but i am not accustomed to this kind of attitude in the hotels where i usually stay.
1st room no windows that open 2nd room to hot and small used as double but really only single,
Cleanliness, decor, good size en suite with space and places to put toiletries and towels. Ceiling fan. Comfortable bed.
Mix up on rooms I booked two months in advance and phoned two days in advance to advise that my sons 6yr old daughter would be coming and assured that a bed would be made up but when we arrived the owner was unaware and nothing prepared. The two rooms booked were in sep buildings. The cord for the ceiling fan was too short needed to stand on chair to use.
The town was nice and access to Tatton Park was great.
Completely misled by advert. Booked an expensive "suite" (offering conservatory, en-suite bathroom, towelling robes, sunlit bedroom and patio to sit out on and desk with sitting area) for £141 per night (breakfast was even extra??) and ended up with part of an apartment (the kitchen was locked off) in an end of terrace street block (not in an hotel at all!), with a dark, bare cellar bedroom, a windowless bathroom one stair up, and a dismally decorated lounge which had cars parked only feet outside. There were no patio windows, no conservatory, no en-suite bathroom, no robes, and no patio area. The bedroom window was small, dark and dank-smelling and looked up towards a dirty street-level pavement grill. And five of the candle-bulbs in the lounge were not working. And the water was cold. And we were charged £2.00 for using a Visa Debit Card on top of this?! Never again, never! Dismal, misleading and way over-priced. This overnight stay let us down hugely, as well as the Booking.com site and the friendly town of Knutsford.
Dinnig and Bar areas are fine. Staff are pleasent enough, but its not value for money
Room 24 is enclosed inside the building!! I dont know how it passes a fire risk! The rooms on the front are very noisey and the stairs are steep. We purposely asked for a ground floor room and had to settle for the 1st floor in the annex
The bar, the availability of food all day and the location
noise,no air conditioning
Close to Tatton Park deer park entrance, so useful for the RHS flower show.
bed sheets were very rumpled -hadn't been ironed, hopefully not that they hadn't been changed! Lots of notices in the room about House rules which seemed very unwelcoming.
Great location. Walking distance from Knutsford. Staff very friendly.
Ended up in the attic with no ventilation or ceiling fan. No window to look out of except the skylight. NO AC and we needed it. No where to hang our clothes. This room was way overpriced for what we got and I had booked way in advance.
The Longview opposite the infamous Knutsford Heath is a little gem. The stylish hotel has quite a history and is pretty and well equipped with a charming bar in Bell's bunker, where the former MP once planned his campaign. Nearby is Tatton Park, not far away Styal Mill and all the shopping Cheshire has to offer in Wilmslow and Alderley Edge as well as historic Knutsford itself. While Manchester and Liverpool are only a half hour away, it's convenient for both.
Room was a bit small but very reasonably priced.
Good presentation of a small hotel, with a good standard restaurant
Room was basically too small for a couple with suitcases. The bathroom, like so many, lacked shelves, hooks and rails.
