Just a short walk from Lake Windermere, Lonsdale House is in the village of Bowness-on-Windermere. The World of Beatrix Potter is a 5 minute walk away, and many popular walking, biking and climbing locations are easily reached by foot. Lonsdale features a well-stocked bar and guest lounge, with free board games and a fiction library. All rooms have private bathrooms and have free toiletries and refreshments. Location was good, 5 mins from bowness center Just didn't seem/feel clean.possibly because the interior is so old. Good sized room but bathroom very small. One of the staff was extremely stroppy.

Staff friendly and helpful and the breakfast was nice. The room was spotless and the hotel is conveniently situated for everything in Bowness. The main problem was noise. We were in room number 2 right at the front and next to the front door. We got very little sleep due to traffic noise and people shouting on the way past. We could hear every sound from the room upstairs. Parking is extremely tight. We have a large 4x4 and found it very awkward. The main problem is the layout of the building and the proximity to a busy main road but there is nothing they can do about that.

A lovely house/hotel, great parking, best breakfast in the north, we have a little boy with allergies we used there fridge for storing his food, and they catered where they could for him. Excellant. Wifi could of been better in room.

The hotel was full and as a result there was inadequate car parking facilties for the required number of cars so much so we had to leave our mobile telephone number in case a guest wanted to go out whilst we had gone to the town for an evening meal.Three of the car spaces were on the main road and a large vehicle parked there would jut out and could have been damaged by a passing car. We would not stay at this place again.

The friendly welcome on arrival The attention to detail in the room Location This is a splendid hotel it was warm, clean,and ticked all the boxes for the purpose of our visit to the lakes. The breakfast set us up for the day in all it was a very plesant experience

Location was good for shops ,bars etc. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lonsdale house was very dated and the bar closed at 11pm prompt which is a bit early on a Saturday night. The breakfast was not up to standard which i would expect,not hot and not great ingredients.

A warm welcome, and friendly staff. The room we had was ok but could have done with a little freshing up, but for what we paid good all round value. The breakfast in the morning was exellent, again the staff where friendly and took to chat, and you could eat and drink as much as you wanted. nothing

The staff were wonderful. Polite and courteous at all times with big smiles, even early in the morning! I couldnt open the window in our room which made the evening quite uncomfortable as a result. Fresh air a must please!
