Lovely stay. Always clean. Very friendly staff who can't do enough for you. Food is amazing and huge portions. Idea location with amazing views.
I found the staff to be most helpful and extremely pleasant, more so than any other hotel I have stayed at.
Room was quite warm, shower was not very hot.
Convenience & peacefulness.
Bedroom walls bit thin - could hear next door talking!
Fantastic hotel & excellent value
Nothing to dislike
friendly and helpful staff
We were so glad to be shown our clean, comfortable room after a hard day of traveling. The hotel is situated in an quiet, country location surrounded by rolling hills dotted with sheep. The staff was warm and friendly and we are very grateful to the manager who cheerfully worked for over half an hour arranging for a hotel where we could stay on the next stage of our journey.
Quiet location. Good sized room with nice bathroom. Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble.
The room was very clean and warm, excellent nights sleep and really good choice of breakfast
Hotel really out in the country down tiny lanes. Would be difficult to find without Sat nav. We were given good instructions by hotel.
Staff very helpful. Food excellent service quick but you never felt rushed. Very comfortable bed had a great stay.
We did think that the bathroom was a little tired looking and would benefit from a paint and tidy up tiles needed re grouting .
Peaceful in all respects apart from our room being above the bar, which during our stay was relatively quiet, but potentially could be very unpleasant. Location and views stunning. Staff very friendly and helpful.
I understand that there are local issues regarding signposting the hotel. Finding it was problematical.
Lovely location, yet close to Exeter.
A very peaceful hotel. The room was cosy and clean and the bed was comfortable. Small bathroom but excellent shower. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Wonderful grounds and views.
No magnified make-up mirror.
Getting a bargain rate here was brilliant and staff exceptionally helpful
Not being able to get room for a second bargain night!
Staff and efficiency was excellent and they couldn't do enough for you. Food was extremely good and the amenities were sufficient. The panoramic view coupled with a sense of isolation was superb. We WILL be going back
A tiny thing was that the TV sound was tinny and hardly audible because of this; however everything that was good by far surpassed this and who needs a TV when you can sit and watch the beautiful panoramic views.
Very happy with the hotel, comfy beds, spotless really. We spent the best night ever!
The stunning setting in the Devon countryside, the large comfortable rooms and the fact that this hotel was dog-friendly, with a lovely country walks and also room-service available.
A little tricky to find but I didn't have sat nag.
Really loverly location Excellent restaurant
We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were really friendly, polite and helpful at all times. The rooms were light and airy as well as being quiet and peaceful for a good night's sleep. We ate at the hotel restaurant both evenings and the food was delicious! On top of all this, the hotel is situated in the most magnificent location with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. We would definitely like to return to this hotel.
Location, Friendliness of Staff, Food and Accomodation
We were not staying longer !
Friendly and helpful staff. Very good restaurant with good wine list. A perfect setting overlooking open countryside and very quiet.
Could be difficult to find but then if you want quiet surroundings and beautiful countryside you have to pay this small price.
We drove by the turn off on the A30 and had to turn around and approach from another way, in the dark by that time. This place is deep in the country, but in a lovely setting when you get there.
I wish the windows had been opened as it was a very hot day and made sleeping at first lying on the top of the bed, even with all the windows open.
Superb location, room was lovely with wonderful views. We couldn't have wished for better hospitality, the staff were very helpful, friendly and professional Ruth the manager in particular. Our stay was such a pleasant experience we will be returning one day in the future.
Finding it with no sat nav!!
Very good food and a beautiful garden to sit and enjoy the views with a drink. The room was huge and newly furnished- super value for money but we did get a special price.
Very hospitable and accommodating
Lovely setting, quiet and nice garden. Lots do do in the surroundings
