We enjoyed our staff very much lovely hotel in beautiful grounds very helpful staff and good food.
Just stayed one nigh on route to Cornwall. The receptionist was awesome, helping in suggesting some walks we could do and directions to a nearby pub.
Perfect location, extremely quiet and beautiful.
Biscuits in the room were out of date and lots of moths in the hallway.
Lovely place and great food
The hotel needed a good Hoover and the bathroom in the room needed a good clean
Quiet location but handy to get back on the main roads. I recieved a call to inform me that the kitchen was closing & offered to make me a sandwich on arrival. Excellent service!
Large comfortable room, friendly staff, beautiful location.
Nothing not to like.
Beautiful surroundings, comfy bed, friendly staff
Hard to find, navi takes you miles away if you don't put post code in your TomTom :(
friendly, very good english breakfast, very nice !
a bit difficult to find
Staff Value for money
A bit old fashioned but well looked after, comfortable and clean. Lovely room with some character. Convenient location, if a little hard to find, for a stopover from the A30.
Breakfast could have been better.
Location and friendly staff
Quiet setting, stunning views. No disturbance from other guests. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast.
Little bit faded glory - room perhaps needs updating - shower improving. But other factors meant this didn't matter as totally adequate and we slept well.
Had a brilliant stay with a group of friends. All slept extremely well. The reception staff were very wel comming and friendly. Would definatly stay again
Friendly staff lovely gardens dog friendly
Beautiful location friendly and helpful staff big room very comfortable bed excellent plumbing ample convenient parking
Furniture in room was rather sparse - it could do with another armchair and a coffee table Driving on Devon's country lanes to get to the hotel needed patience and steady nerves - definitely do not turn right when leaving the hotel as the lanes are very narrow
Lovely old English Hotel. Very comfortabe and in a picturesqe location.
Very narrow country lanes to and from this location. Food is good but the portions are too big for normal appetites
Good facility good food and very clean. I was on business so could take advantage of how relaxing a place it is to stay and chill out.
Bit of an issue finding it and roads very narrow but well worth the stay.
The views are stunning and the hotel mirrors the tranquility of the location. I would certainly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I was in need of a lot of rest after a long week of conference work away from home. I got the silence I needed for sleep and was not disturbed, but the sunlight poured around the edges of the blackout curtains waking me too early, since for full darkness they need to be floor length and have a pelmet.
Excellent confortable rooms, very friendly staff, extremely helpful, dinner very good
Access roads to the hotel very poor, which is a great pity as its a lovely hotel, but the journey to reach it would prevented making a second visit
Amazing countryside view and nice garden Dinner was good value for money; efficient waiter Rooms were clean and spacious
Location highly inaccessible by car, with many single-lane two-way roads
Lovely country Hotel close to Exeter Friendly and helpful Staff Well kept Gardens and walks from the hotel Spacious rooms
The double shower curtain!
The peace and Isolation. Dog friendly with great walks close by. Staff really nice.
very hard to find and expected Basil Fawlty to roll up any minute. Needs a bit of modernising.
Beautiful place once you got there. Clean sheets. Helpful reception
Hard to find, directions not good. V tired & run down decor etc. Tiny shower. Dinner not v good, but nowhere else to go! Crying out for a complete overhaul!
Love the location and staff make you feel welcome also food was spot on.
Room was on the small side and not laid out very well also thin walls.
