Could not fault the 2 night stay. Breakfast was excellent, Very clean, Staff very pleasant .
Can't thinks of any negatives .
The hotel is in a very good location - in reach of town centre and the countryside around Shrewsbury. The car parking excellent, and there is a very good choice of rooms. Staff are efficient and friendly.
Heating in the room was so hot it was like trying to sleep in a sauna! Had window open even though snow/frost outside. Staff weren't helpful when trying to get a local taxi number. Also no one at reception even after pressing the bell no one turned up this was at 7.30 so not even late
The hotel was lovely, food was fantastic, staff were very attentive. It was a pleasure to visit the hotel.
The room was so cosy and warm really comfortable
Noisey heating and perhaps too warm lol
The hotel had fantastic staff who couldnt do enough for you. Ample free car parking. The room was spacious, very clean and the central heating even worked, which is a rarity in most hotel. The breakfast was extensive and delicous. To top off my stay, a staff member insisted on opening the door for me.
My Only complaint, the pillows were a little hard for me and the bed was only ok.
Staff were all very friendly, food was fantastic!
Room was too warm for us, even with the window open! Television could do with upgrading.
Great service,I got my suite upgraded,to the best one in the hotel,I asked for this one when I booked but it was being used on my first night,I asked reception and they upgraded me for no extra cost, which was great. Thanks to the staff for the excellent service!!
The breakfast was excellent and the hotel was in easy walking distance from Shrewsbury town centre
Location great for walking in to town.
Headboard loose every time you moved the bed woke you up.
Plenty parking available. Reception area was warm & welcoming with reasonable decor. Staff very friendly & helpful & kindly ordered a taxi for me to get into town as it was just a little far in my heels!
My room was in the lodge & was fairly basic, it didn't matter to me as I was out for the evening elsewhere so it was somewhere literally to shower & sleep. Although the lodge seemed fairly empty there was typically someone in the room directly above who were noisy late at night & again in the morning which was frustrating! Not the hotels fault, but if there are so many empty rooms, why place people so close!
Effective Wifi Warm, comfortable room Lovely heated towels Great - thank you!
Unable to get a drink before 11am, No snacks or food available all day on Boxing Day
Staff Comfortable bed Location Breakfast
First breakfast was poor poached eggs were hard, tables not cleared staff not helpful. The second morning was totally different food very good and staff was very good . If we booked again we would want to stay in the hotel not in the lodge.
Large room Large TV Comfy firm bed Good pillows Quiet (we were in the Lodge building)
Shower a bit weak (water flow)
Week before Christmas and the rooms were so hot in the annexe we had the window open, fan on and were sleeping on top of the duvet. Ridiculous! Also the main door to the annexe has broken glass - not very welcoming or reassuring.
the location was fine. The room was spacious
We were in the lodge. It is like staying in a different hotel which explains the lower price. There was a lot of traffic noise and no access to wifi at all. It should be advertised as different accommodation. Personally we would have paid more for a main hotel room if we'd known.
room was very hot
Helpful staff with excellent attitude. It was great to be able to eat in the bar area, quieter for good conversation.Enjoyable food with a variety of choice.
We had a job to find the hotel in the dark. Sat nav inadequate.
That booking.com didn't forward our booking to the hotel! 3 double rooms, Sat night, 2 weeks before Christmas! The hotel were great and sorted another hotel for us.
Can not fault
Staff were excellent and food was very good.
Bedrooms and bathrooms look like they could do with refurbishing .
This was the 4th time back at the lord hill, first time to stay in the main hotel instead of the lodge, I have to say for the extra few pounds it's well worth it, stayed in room 208 was massive, with walking in shower, 2 TVs on the wall, I separate room for chilling it felt lot more expensive than it was, it's was the perfect room to propose to my future wife, we love the Lord hill hotel and will be coming back for many years, keep up the good work and thank you for the memories
Pillow was bit hard for me but that's my preference, awesome hotel and would recommend it to anyone
