The staff are very welcoming, food is good too, slightly expensive but worth it.
Rooms "slightly" tired.
Good size room Clean bathroom Friendly , helpful staff
Everything! Have stayed here a few times now and it never disappoints. Excellent staff, very professional. Food excellent and room was lovely
Excellent food in the bar. First rate service in the bar. Really good breakfast. Clean comfortable rooms.
Lack of airiness in the lower ground floor of the annex.
Quality of the room. Big car park. Good food. Friendly, efficient staff.
Traffic noise kept us awake much of the night and woke us early in the morning. We were in the lodge, which is separate to the main hotel building and very near the dual carriageway. I imagine the main hotel building would not suffer from this problem as it is some distance away from the dual carriageway.
The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent . Location was in walking distance to town . Our room was large and cleaned every day. I would stay in this hotel again if I Was in the area .
Large bedroom(with t.v.) bed was really comfy.Separate mini lounge with second t.v. .Large bathroom, with luxury shower(enormous)and bath. Cleanliness could not be faulted, rooms fully serviced at time to suit the us. Wife and I enjoyed a wedding anniversary Dinner in restaurant, and we were waited upon like royalty. Decor is traditional, and homely. Each and every member of staff, were helpful friendly and found nothing too much trouble. This was an anniversary treat to ourselves and was made truly memorable, thanks to this Hotel and staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. A very big Thank You to all .
we were in room 208,which overlooks the car park, two A.C. directly under window, noise only noticeable at night. but with windows closed and fan on,(I'm a fresh air fiend!) problem solved
We were placed in the anex rooms which are fine..light furniture with red poppy canvas pics and red curtains and throw. Pleasant room and bathroom standard but clean
Location fabulous. Main part of hotel looked lovely.
We were put in The Lodge - a building behind the main hotel. This was quite grim - dated and dented furniture. Fortunately this was only an overnight stay for us - would have been very disappointed if it was a special occasion.
Location was good in that it was easy to find. Restaurant evening meals excellent
Room far too hot and unable adjust temperature. Very noisy fan located outside room and road noise was horrendous. Breakfast disappointing, singed omelet type scrambled eggs on day one followed by undercooked fried eggs (runny whites) on day two. Put me off having cooked breakfast for rest of week. TV intermittently went off channel or froze. I hated being in basement room
I was please with the presentation of the room. There was a bath and shower which was good and the room was really clean :)
I was woken in the morning about 5 from what sounded like the water pipes. I could then here a noise similar to a hand dryer off and on. On this occasion I needed to be up early but would have preferred a bit more sleep.
The main hotel and staff are lovely and the hotel is only several minutes walk from Shrewsbury town center. There is also ample parking on-site.
I booked the stay online and didn't notice that the room offered was in their 'Lodge' which is separate from the main building. Pay the difference and stay in the main hotel!
The calibre of the staff and management - they made us feel valued and special. The excellent choice at breakfast and the overall cleanliness and attention to detail. An enjoyable three nights.
No choice of feather pillows - the ones provided were a bit hard. Also a covered walkway would greatly improve the walk from lodge to main hotel - especially when cold and wet!
Jenny from Adelaide South Australia.. Brekky was good.. Nothing was too much trouble,
bar staff were very friendly
We were booked I. Main part of building but when we arrived the receptionist kept tutting when looking for our booking and in the end we said we didn't mind staying in annexe building. Think it was a mistake the room smelt damp and musty. Would have told reception but busy when we booked out and never asked us if we enjoyed our stay.
Large car park, good-sized room. Bed comfortable.
Noisy as there was a wedding being held there on a Saturday night. I was in the lodge building, thankfully away from the celebrations, but still disturbed several times late at night by people returning to their rooms.
We were in accommodation at the back of the hotel, which we felt was not up to standard, and could not get a car park when we came back after having dinner out, we had to keep going back to see if there was a space available up until 10 pm
Both breakfast and evening meal
The long walk to the annex as my husband had a problem with his back
Very quiet considering there was a wedding night do on. Rooms were lovely. About an 8 minute walk into town. Will return again as we enjoyed it so much. Thank you
Location perfect to walk into town about 10 mins.
Thin walls, could hear other guests.
A very good hotel, nicely appointed, with very friendly, helpful staff. Excellent restaurant with good choices for breakfast and dinner. Food very well prepared with lots of variety. Good location, about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Shrewsbury.
Food prices a little high, but perhaps OK given the high standard.
Proximity to Shrewsbury. Good cooked breakfast
Very noisy due to road. Size of double beds, too small. Rooms very hot. Fixtures and fittings very tired.
I booked The Lord Hotel expecting to stay in the hotel upon arrival we where directed not shown to a lodge at the far end of the car park. It was worse than a travel lodge it backed onto the bypass with constant traffic we couldn't even open the window due to the constant noise. We expected to stay in the hotel so we could use the bar restaurant etc!
Good value, good location
very minor comment - A bit basic, tv remote did not work
crisp fresh linen.
