Shrewsbury is a great town to visit which we do several times a year. Summer time is definitely worth a visit but we go all year round and always enjoy ourselves. Full of history, quirky hotels, bars and restaurants and great for shopping. Umai restaurant is outstanding for us food always delicious. A trip on the river boat highly recommended. Several places to park all within a short distance of the centre.

The town is packed full of historic beautiful biuldings Riverside walk is an absolute must... Town centre to Castlefields especially. The Abbey, castle , and lots of one off shops. Hidden in nooks and crannies are such delights as the old post office the old prison and boutiques. Don't miss The Dingle gardens as you take the walk.

An absolute surprise - we spent all day just walking round Shrewsbury and being delighted by what we found - including the Market Hall which is something we don't see many of in the south of England.

Shrewsbury there is plenty of places to eat and drink resonable prices Plenty of shops easy to get around a bit hilly in parts for people with mobility issues. good walks along river bank and in parks plenty of space to wonder if you don't want the town.

This was our second time in Shrewsbury and still lots to see and do. The prison is a must to visit and is well worth the entrance fee, especially is you do the self guided tour. The majority of the pubs and independant shops are dog friebdly, which is a huge bonus if your four legged friend is with you. The blitz hill museum in Ironbridge is worth a visit. We paid £26.50 each entrance fee but it was well worth the money and ypu could spend all day there looking at and interacting with the exhibits. There are some oldy worldy little streets to walk down and a walk along the river is a must. The darwin trail is well worth doing, very interesting and comoletely free

Pro's :Loved Shrewsbury , haven't spent much time in Shropshire, this town is a hidden gem and I will definitely be back . Loved the history of the town and well preserved Tudor buildings which drew me to booking a short break. Shrewsbury has something for everyone. It's a foodie heaven- amazing Market Hall with interesting food , drink and clothing outlets, spent hours here- recommend House of Yum to eat in here(Thai dining, inexpensive and well presented) plus the Gin Bar ! (with it's own Shrewsbury Gin). Would also highly recommend an Italian restaurant called Osteria- excellent service and food to an award. winning standard. The Henry Tudor pub worth visiting- very historical and really interesting interior. Shrewsbury reminded of a mini-York minus the price tag. Shrewsbury is very accessible and also easy to walk around. Cons : Be mindful a lot of the shops and points of interest such as the Castle and Military museum are shut on Sundays and the Market Hall is only open on Set days- all the more reason to go back !

Ideally located for visiting the historical and beautiful town of Shrewsbury .Although the hotel was on a main road there was no noise from traffic because of the double glazing. The room, a small suite, was comfortable . The main part of the total , The Abs, which was attached to the hotel is a vibrant and friendly place . The staff we friendly and couldn’t do enough for us and the breakfast was fabulous. I would recommend parking at the railway station a 5 minute walk and £6 for 24 hours. We will definitely be back . 😊

Hotel right in Shrewsbury Town centre, walking distance from the high street, theatre, pubs, clubs, and restaurants. Very convenient, clean and tidy. Affordable breakfast in the morning (this is a Wetherspoon after all!). Room price was affordable for the money. Staff were very accommodating in providing a change in room requirements when a last minute alteration was needed.

Superb breakfast and very friendly staff. Car parking was a bit tight but we had been warned it was first come first served. We would have been earlier if Shrewsbury hadn't made the town centre one way as a trial. We could see the hotel but had to go all round to get to it. V poor. Location excellent for the town centre. Had a lovely stay thank you

The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the breakfast was excellent. The location really convenient. The hotel was excellent value for money. Within 30 minutes of checking out I received a phone call telling me I'd left my phone charger behind, so was able to retrieve it before going home.

We liked the friendly staff, the cleanliness, the location and the comfort. The fact there was a free car park connected to the hotel was a bonus. We stayed two nights and would definitely return if the opportunity ever arose. We would recommend the Lion and Pheasant to anyone planning a trip to Shrewsbury.

The communication with Steve was excellent. Everything was laid out perfectly. The location was just right, only a 10 minute walk into the town centre. The flat itself was beautiful, far better than any hotel room. We will definitely use it again when we return to Shrewsbury.

This was a great alternative to a hotel room. With this 2 bedroom apartment, although fairly small, it was larger than just a hotel room and had kitchen and laundry facilities which is helpful. It was an easy walk into town and we found a park for the car across the road.
