Location was fantastic and the staff were friendly. Although the rooms were vey basic and a bit scruffy the bed linen was very clean.
The hall ways and bedrooms were very dated and in need of refurbishment. My bathroom was one of those types that you maybe have under the stairs when plumbing is an issue. It made real loud noises each time the toilet was flushed or you turned a tap on. My sister had a room close by and had no main light in her room and her TV didn't work. When we booked in she was given her room key but when she opened the door there was someone already staying in there as clothes and money were lying about, luckily the person wasn't in the room at the time. She went down to reception and told them but all they said was 'oh yes, that room is now room 122'. Not good really. Thankfully we were only there for one night.
Good location & friendly staff...
Bathroom heater not working
staff location clean
noise from late drinkers who stay at hotel no respect for others why shout scream etc in the hotel late at nite, no fault in hotel at all just think they need to warn these people when they check in. ok they put a notice up in room but the message does not sink in. apart from that great but i had 2 nites no sleep great breakfast and room was clean will stay again mark toffee
The location of the hotel, the staff helpful, the breakfast was good
A notice telling you that you needed to run the tap on the sink (for ages) to get hot water so that the water in the shower would be warm would have been helpful. Even after doing this the shower was at best tepid was annoying. Never did work out why there was a lump of wood on the bed when I got into the room... self defence? Handyman error? Didn't want to ask in case I didn't like the answer
You get what you pay for, the Lord Nelson is a good hotel with basic comforts and is good value for money
Staff were very friendly and helpful enjoyed r stay would stay again and recommend to family and friends
staff very helpful and polite. train station only 5 mins walk
Small room for 2 beds. would be ideal for single bed only. But was fine for short stay
Noisy neighbours -spoke to them and then the staff sorted them out.
Clean bedding, fresh towels daily, very large TV
Bathroom was odd, low small sink, very narrow beds and quilts. On using the stairs after 10pm doors were heavy and narrow
All was OK very central could
Close proximity to city centre
The narrow staircase and difficult to open/manage luggage through fire doors.
Great location, very good breakfast, breakfast area very relaxing. Great value for money. Will stay again.
Smell in bathroom, shower head needed some attention.
in the centre of the city Liverpool, near railway station Lime Street; elegant, casual,clean hotel with very good breakfast in the morning;
Location, not a typical clone hotel
Shabbiness of staircases
Close to train station Daily Clean Service Value for money Nice Breakfast Big Flat Screen Satelite T.V Hot Water Heating
Noise from side live music bar until 9-10pm
Central location Breakfast Friendly staff
Hotel is next door to rock band venue. Had to endure loud music from 7.30 until 11pm. It was so loud the walls were vibrating. This was a killer for me. It spoiled my visit.
Convenient location to Lime Street Station. WiFi fast and free. Clean, warm, the bar facility, Good value for money. I would definitely stay again.
No small table in bedroom - so that I could use it for my laptop. How about even a folding card table? The're cheap and space saving. I would like wholemeal, spelt or soda bread rather than just coisants for breakfast. Spelt preferably - it is low GI, tasty and best for health.
Location was good. Large screen television.
Fusty smell in corridors and room. Room very small and bathroom minute with no shelf over basin. Shower attachment was loose fell off when I tried to adjust it. Beds very hard and door rattled. Not allowed to use lift after 10 pm so as not to disturb residents who had to get up early. Pity they did not give us the same consideration in the morning. Breakfast very basic. Not good value for money. No comparison with Liverpool Liner across the road.
Excellent like action for getting around.
The parking was very expensive. Had to park in rival hotels car park and added significant unplanned cost to the weekend.
Great location right next to Lime Street Station, with plenty of access to City Centre, and very close to Empire Theatre. For money paid great value and friendly staff.
Right next to Lime St Station Facilities OK
Public areas a bit shabby. Walls thin. Right next to music venue: no problem as we were there on Sunday night.
This is my second stay at the Lord nelson which I throughly enjoyed. The spacious rooms and friendly staff.
location, friendly staff,clean and fordable
Quality of room which is much better than a slightly battered and tired external facade may suggest Basic and makes no excuses for it Great value for money
Can be noisy when people come up the stairs late at night but nothing majorly annoying
Friendly staff. Room was very clean
