The Lordleaze Hotel is the only 3-star hotel in Chard with its own restaurant and bar with real log fire. The hotel offers free parking and free Wi-Fi. Once an 18th-century farmhouse, the family-run hotel is in a secluded area on the Somerset, Dorset and Devon borders. It is surrounded by natural pastures only 3 minutes from Chard town center. A warm and friendly atmosphere awaits you. Bar and restaurant meals are available every evening and feature local produce. Very quiet location We thought the hotel is over priced for the facilities it offered. the shower was hopeless - no pressure. The rooms need updating and the furniture was shabby. The television was far too small. the breakfast was abysmal - the toast on both days was stale bread and a room service sandwich was not fresh either and at £4.50 was poor. At £120 we expected better. There was a wedding on our second day which if we had been informed we may not have chosen to stay there. consequently there was a lot of noise on the Saturday night with kids running around till very late. The staff were not particularly friendly - ok they were busy but thats no excuse.

The location was good being within easy reach of local amentities but appeared to be in the middle of the country. The reastaurant was very good the quality of the food excellent. Overall the hotel was very good

Sehr freundliche Gastgeber und Personal.Wir waren zum dritten mal in dem Hotel und fühlten uns gleich wieder wie zu Haus. Sehr gute Küche,gemütlicher Pub im Hotel. Ruhige Lage des Hotels in Chard und doch ideal um den Süden von Englands zu erkunden.

The staff did respond when we complained about the soft mattress. The breakfast was good. We found our bed very soft and uncomforable. We both had bad backs after our stay. I think the cost is too high for the type of hotel and its location. Not a very attractive location.
