Lord Leycester Hotel

Considering the price of the room I thought it was expensive for the standard of the room - there were iron burn marks on the floor - the room was clean but not worth £80 per night

Other negative points - The window in room 111 was in a very bad state of repair externally. A plant that was well on the way to turning into a small tree was growing out of the sill which was no longer structurally viable. This was in itself rather charming - but it does not suggest that the hotel is on top of routine maintenance of the building - in other words what else is falling apart that we cannot see.

We stayed in room 111. The floor boards in our room were very sqeaky - as were those in the adjoining room. When the occupants of that room moved about the noise of the floorboards was disruptive. This is something that would need to be resolved if this hotel is to aspire to something more than a relatively cheap and comfortable place to stay.

A bit threadbear and worn Some hidden plumbing dripped all night

I can only say the convenience really as it is situated in the High Street in Warwick close to the castle and main shopping area. The area also has an abundance of restuarants/bars to suit everyone's taste.

Disappointed to find our room very small and bathroom overlooking the main road! I found the whole hotel quite dated and a bit smelly! Breakfast was just OK. Overall I guess it was convenient just for the one night.

The room was dated but clean. The large "double" bed was actually 2 singles pushed together, both hot and cold taps produced hot water "quirky plumbing" :). The public areas are have been updated and are very nice, the breakfast was very good. Overall nice place to stay for a night or two.

Very friendly staff and the food was very good

I liked the friendliness of the staff, the quality of the rooms and the food. The bar was open as long as there were people to drink in it. Good parking.

Very good location right in the centre of Warwick. Old fashioned interior with Olde England decor which we liked. Comfy beds. Picturesque view of the castle and trees from car park. Nice big car park. Great full English breakfast.

Tiny bar, poorly stocked and staffed but there are plenty of others to choose from in Warwick!

Staff where friendly and helpfull, especially the night porter who went to great trouble to move us to another room at 2:00 AM due to another guest causing disturbance

Our original room (207) seemed a little in need of decoration, I understand that in an old building such as this it is difficult to maintain high standards of decor when the whole building is in a constant state of movement but the room was not as clean as we expected and it did seem a little shabby.

The plumbing. Creaking floors.

Central location and the fact that it was only 400m from Warwick Castle, the reason for our visit.

Service at breakfast was very poor, staff were slow to replenish items on the buffet style counter.Uniforms seemed to be a bit of a mish-mash and some of the staff can only be described as scruffy.
