The town was very nice. The hotel was nice and quiet.
When you first walk in it looks great but once going through to rooms looks very gruby and dark.
location was excellent
room had damp everywhere, changed room to one with wallpaper on the ceiling hanging down.breakfast was meager
It was in the middle of Wawick
No one at desk when went to reception.room very run down. Dirty the bathroom you needed a peg on your nose to go in . Shower was cool and a trickle of water.toilt stained with ruin at the bottom worst room I have stayed in .
location good b/fast helpful staff
TV out of date rooms need a face lift shower head old towels need replacing rooms need upgrading
Very good position for Castle, free parking
Hotel in need of refurbishment. Rooms not very insulated from sound. On three occasions throughout the night I thought someone had opened the door into my room but it was the quests opposite. (there was a small group of Xmas revelers staying at the hotel and were still in the corridors at 5am)
NICE HOT BATH - location for Warwick Castle couldn't be better
PAYING EXTRA FOR BREAKFAST - i have stayed in similar quality of hotels and for the same money get a cooked breakfast and 3 course evening meal for the same price- only small car park - christmas party at the castle had trouble finding a parking space
Like the location of the hotel and parking
Didnt like making our own tea and toast at breakfast (this can be dangerous due to carrying hot water accross the dining room). No teapots were provided. The room decoration looked very tired and needed freshening up. The leads for the tv and wifi were trailing over the floor from an extension cable. Generally the hotel looked shabby, untidy and uncared for. Cleanliness was fair but the toilet looked as though it needed a good bottle of bleach throwing down it or better still be replaced The shower did not work properly in the morning due to low water pressure and the showere head being to big for the shower pipe. In general we were disappointed in the hotel and as such would not stay there again and would not advise going there to anyone. The only good thing about the hotel was the courteous and friendly staff that work there.
It is expected that a hotel of this age would not have the amenities of a newer hotel. However, all hotels should have water. When the water did work in the shower, it was for several minutes with very low pressure. On one of the nights, there was no water in the shower or the sink. The hotel reported boiler problems that evening but the water was almost as bad the next day after the boiler was fixed.
Breakfast,location to Warwick Castle
We had to complain about our room due to the smell of drainage and damp. Although the replacement room was better the T.V failed after 1 hour The room had no central heating only 2 electric heaters
24 hr bar
All the above
Beautiful building. Shame it hasn't had much attention. Very sad décor. Room was nice. Very clean! Bathroom well equipped and, again, very clean. Little girl on reception, delightful. Chap on evening duty, very nice, even though he was run off his feet!
Excellent location. Most of the staff were very nice & very pleasant. In the bar, in the evening, we spent a couple of hours winding down, after a very enjoyable day sightseeing. We were charged approximately £8 for two drinks, roughly 3-4 times. At 11pm, the bar staff changed hands & the next guy attempted to charge us £13+ for the same two drinks. He told us it was a more expensive brand. We didn't ask for it. We asked for the same as previously ordered.
A light in the room did not work The television did not work at times, the scart lead was very loose and kept losing contact. The handle in the shower indicated hot was cold and vice versa. Also handle was loose in fact it could be detached
Good location with free parking, old fashion hotel
Shower pressure wasn t good so had to use bath instead. Communicating door to next door's room was a bit thin so lack of privacy. Breakfast was overpriced.
The Breakfast was really good, we had the full English I recommend it, but there was a variety of other items to choose from. The location is very good. Free parking a real must and a big bonus. Reception Staff very helpful and professional.
Wi Fi poor but manageable in our bedroom, excellent connection in lounge area. The breakfast waitress could be a little more attentive but then others can say sometimes they are too attentive, a good morning would go down well and she could have asked if we need any help with coffee or tea, clearing the table was non existent even though we were siting with dirty plates for about 20 minutes after breakfast and it was not busy three other couples at breakfast but I am making this comment as there was nothing really that bad considering the price we paid for the room.
The location and parking facilities were very good. The staff were very helpful and friendly
A lot of upgrading on the bedrooms is required, but due to what is going to happen to the hotel it can be seen why nothing has been done. We had intended to book for October as it was so central for the Halloween event at warwick castle but unfortunately we where unable to do this.
Central Warwick location
Rubbish hot water Creaking floorboards inside rooms when people walk in corridors outside of room. Unhygienic bathrooms Very noisy bathroom extract fans
Great location for visiting Warwick Castle and town of Warwick. Easy car parking. Bed clean. Towels reasonable quality. Wifi good but only allowed one connection!
Dreadful, small room and old fashioned bathroom with stained floor finish. Badly in need of total refurbishment. Very poor. The narrow corridors and doors were also in need of refurbishment. It was like something of a time warp from the 1950s. Embarrassingly poor advertisement for English tourism and Warwick. The only refurbished areas were the tiny reception area and main staircase. Bathroom fan noisy, some light bulbs failed and electrical sockets mainly were extension leads lying on the floor in the window area which looked very poor and could be dangerous. Hairdryer was plugged in and just lying on the floor. Very cluttered with free standing fan and convection heater also on extension leads crammed in the window area. We felt we needed to always have something on our feet when walking around as it looked grubby. And as a result we didn't use the shower in the bathroom and waited until we returned home to London for a shower! (Only stayed one night and would never go there again.) The hotel had an OK and quite good appearance from the front outside in the main street! But we should have been wary when the receptionist wanted payment in advance before handing over the room key and therefore allowing us to see the room.
Close to Warwick Castle, town & racecourse. Staff were helpful and friendly, rooms were a bit tired looking but had everything that was required, ironing board and iron in the room and finally a hotel that gives you enough milk for the tea and coffee in the room. Overall not the plushest hotel but a great location and comfortable.
Rooms and decor could do with updating.
I liked the location and staff helpfulness
The room was like a basic 70s room very disappointing. For the price the room was a very big let down . Not even a hairdryer . Floors creaked so much I was woke. Up several times by people walking up the hall way during the night . I'm glad it was only for one night
The breakfast was fine. The staff were helpful and pleasant
Very disappointed, front of house very impressive, with period features, as expected. Once through to bedrooms carpets dingy, poor condition, unpleasant aroma, poor finish. In bedroom, more disappointment, TV socket hanging off wall - DANGEROUS- radiator had been removed, brackets left in situ, old pipework left, hardly any hot water, grubby bathroom. We chose this Hotel because it was marketed as Historic, we did not expect pre-historic ! staff were very understanding and refunded 1 nights stay but we would not recommend this hotel at all and would never return I am sorry to say.
The location, right in town centre, so once thecar was parked up in car park, thats where it stayed unil we came home.
Asked for a quiet room, but was put in a room next to fire escape which fellow guests used throughout the night to go out of for a cigarette, it was like trying to go to sleep in a TB ward, with their coughing.
Manage to get a room in short notice.
No heating just a electric plug in heater
Great after hours bar and nice reception area. Amzingly central for price.
Appeared to be a lot of damp in and around the rooms - central heating was broken so had electric heater in room.
Business traveler stayed in variety of rooms from £35-250 per night this is the worst hotel room I have ever been in.. And paying £60 isn't an excuse for a poor standard of room.. To top it all the upstairs bath/shower leaking through onto my bed from 6am in the morning... Told the reception in the morning no comment from him, no offer of reduction in the bill, and had to ask for an apology..
The staff were nice. The rooms are tired but comfortable and clean.
We were at the hotel for a wedding. The hotel need to sort out their plumbing system as soon as possible. The hot water was not working in 4 of our parties rooms. Not good
