Originally an old coaching inn, this beautifully preserved listed building is now a family-run guest house, with an excellent reputation for good food, cleanliness and value for money.

Was ok for the money.
Cold shower, despite the heating being on full blast all day and night!! making it very uncomfortable through the night as it was just too hot. rooms were very basic. and the kettle was mouldy.

Attitude during check-in, stayed numerous times in the past 5 Years but on this occasion not made to feel welcome!, Just given keys and told to find Room which was located on the top floor which felt claustrophobic with 1 small window(difficulty sleeping)-creaky unsteady floorboards by entrance to toilet/shower. One pack of Biscuits and three coffee sachets between us?? The Gentleman and the cook who normally greeted us warmly during previous stays were nowhere to be seen! All previous reviews have had 100% from both of us-not this time!!!
Excellent friendly staff. Good cooked breakfast for £5 per head. Would stay again.
The outside of the property is very run down. In fact when we arrived the place looked like it had closed down. However I was greeted by a very friendly gentleman and was pleasantly surprised once inside.
Clean and tidy.comfortable beds.
Rooms lacked a bit of comfort. Would have liked a chair and a little table relax in when 1st getting up.instead of having to sit on bed.hotel could do with some decorating.
Staff pleasant and helpful. Quiet central location. Excellent all-round value for money and lovely breakfast for only a fiver. Will be back.
No indication in advance or on arrival that initial access is via the back (car-park) door. (Thereafter front door access with key).
nice old house, lovely room with a good bed, tv and tea making things in the room, fresh towels every day, room and bathroom cleaned perfectly every day, very good breakfast served with a big smile... would definetely book again!
Service Friendliness Value for money
Alround good budget hotel. Good location. Hotel clean tidy and smart inside and out. Very friendly staff that helped with every need. Great price.
Excellent location, friendly staff, very comfortable, great breakfast
People pleasant and helpful. Room nice, clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast fine.
Outside of building shoddy and a bit derelict in appearance. Couldn't get into room between 13.00 and 16.00 unless key picked up beforehand. Would have liked to have finished eating cereal at breakfast time before hot food arrived.
the double bedroom was big and clean
stair boards slightly loose made a noise. Doors that devide areas of hotel noisy when shutting Bar area small. Kettle not in very good condition on inside decided not to use
had a good three days freindly staff rooms well kept clean and tidy nice decor.
good position very welcoming
having to choose breakfast the night before
Just about everything. Always a warm welcome; food good rooms clean what more could you ask ?
Cheap price for the two nights we spent there. Good location for the places we wanted to visit.
Hotel very dated. Torn stair carpet, drab decor. Problem with local signal/mast which meant that TV would come on of its own accord after 11pm. Not good when you are almost asleep. (after 5 hour journey there). Mentioned this when leaving and was given the explanation regarding signal/mast. Would have been nice to have been warned.
Large . quiet and clean room. Near to the centre of town and the staff were helpful and friendly. We never had a GPS, so it was a bit difficult to find, but once we had located the hotel, no further problems
Nothing wrong with it.A good place to stay
What a find! The staff were extremely friendly, the room and beds were comfortable and breakfast was delicious!
Very helpful staff Excellent breakfast.
Residents lounge wasn't available.
Nice large room and peaceful not to far from the Telford Centre.
Room felt a bit dusty and could have done with a little polish.

leaving early to go to work
The location for my needs
Didn't like that the accommodation was locked up until 4.00. Found it quite difficult to find the hotel's main door.
The people were very welcoming and friendly, the breakfast was good. Bedding clean and crisp as were the towels
Overall the hotel was a little outdated Carpets were a worn
The friendly staff the warmth cleanliness and comfort of the hotel.
There really wasn't anything that I particularly disliked about the hotel.
