Weeds on approach, not open for us to drop off bags, even though we had been travelling all day, although someone did eventually let us do so. Electric socket falling off wall, broken shower, to mention a few shortcomings. Then we were kept up until 3.30 by a group of 20 rowdy visitors and the hotel staff did nothing to stop this, even commenting that they too had been kept awake. Do not go here!

It was just a place to sleep and get ready the next morning. Nothing special. Room looked old and worn out.

The Nelson is a small friendly hotel in the centre of Wellington well situated for railway station and shops, yet in a small quiet street. Everything seems to work ok. Clean, central, quiet and Cheap. I'll certainly go there again.

Really pretty hotel, with friendly staff and more than adequate rooms. We chose to eat there, and were impressed to say the least - reasonably priced, big portions and tasty too!!! What impressed myself and my husband the most was the attention to the little details - we stayed there as part of our honeymoon, and the team at The Lord Nelson left some chocolates, sparkly stuff and a card as a congratulations ... lovely touch! Would definitely recommend it!!! There wasn't anything we didn't like .... but perhaps a couple of areas to improve could be a dvd in the rooms, and definitely extra bedding for winter months, as it did get cold at night - as someone who feels the cold, I was prepared and took own my blanket, but not everyone has that foresight. Other than that, the hotel, and it's staff met all expectations!

The hotel was comfortable and accomodating throughout our stay. It was excellent value for money at that price I would stay again. The lady in the morning was a little abrupt at times.

We stayed in the Lord Nelson for a night before going to Harper Adams. The hotel itself isnt too bad. It was comfy and it did what it said on the tin. A comfy bed and a shower with tea & coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast was basic... A typical english breakfast with cereal and toast. If you are looking for a healthy option maybe dont look here as you will get weetabix and no sign of fruit. Basic breakfast. If you just want a basic full cooked then its fine but if you want fruit, yoghurt (something healthier) its maybe not ideal.

Made to feel very welcome during the entire 2night stay-booked room only but paid extra for full English Breakfast-well worth it, food was brilliant- Room and Bed very comfortable.Ideal location for Shops,Pubs, numerous Restaurants and Railway Station-all within easy walking distance.. Will be staying in this Hotel again in the near future. Free Private Car Park at rear of Hotel easy to drive into (access from nearby street) We have no negative points to raise ourselves-others might find the Hotel closed mid afternoon to check in a problem-we arrived after 16.00 when it was open again.

The Lord Nelson Hotel was a clean well presented and comfortable place to stay and was excellent value for money. The breakfast was excellent for the £5 extra payment , well worth having. I would recommend this hotel to anyone needing to stay in this area, the family who run the hotel are friendly warm and inviting. Thats why I will stay again.

Great staff, good venue, short driving distance to local venues, or cheap cab back from any of the nightlife venues. Parking to the rear of the hotel very good. Although I didn't have the chance to have any food at the venue, I did see numerous dishes being served that looked fantastic and the prices were reasonable. Bar closes earlyish, although one night we convinced the barman to stay up a little while longer as we were a group of 16 staying at the hotel. Rooms were very comfortable and spacious. A quiet nice comfortable reasonable hotel in all!!
