The room was warm and the beds comfortable with contemporary linen. The room was in the attic which meant there was very little light. There weren't enough sockets so had to unplug lamps (from behind the bed) to use. The tv wouldn't swival enough to be able to watch from double bed. The shower position meant that when you opened the shower door water ran onto the floor. We asked about ordering dinner at 5.10pm on arrival and were told that it was "a bit late". Apparently dinner is between 6-8pm and you must order by 5pm. The public rooms are tired but this isn't the main problem. On checkout we were not asked if everything was ok. Had we been asked I would have provided this feedback directly.

Really modern tidy room. Comfortable bed. The outside looked a little tatty, and the downstairs a little dated - but dont let that put you off. Breakfast could have had better ingredients, and some black sausauge!

An excellent, friendly, market town hotel run by Gurd, his family and team. Old listed building, lots of character and beams. Excellent traditional 'English Breakfast' Very friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money. Best wishes, Pete & Jenny. Having to lose the calories gained at breakfast!

Very friendly, being able to have breakfast & evening meal if ordered earlier. Could have done with a chair in the room, rather than sitting on the bed & to put clothes on.
