The atmosphere and the way the staff made us feel very special
Everything. Staff, location, comfort, professionalism, attention to detail, food all outstanding.
Dinner was a true foodies paradise. Superbly executed in flavour, texture and presentation Staff were very attentive
Had to wait for service in the bar after dinner
Although hotel has some nice antique furniture, felt lounge lacked atmosphere and some comfy sofas.
pretty much everything
Would have liked a better quality bath
A very grand country hotel that are very welcoming. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Our stay was excellent. Would certainly recommend it.
The dining room is disappointing and dose not do justice to the hotel or the food. There was zero atmosphere and resembled a poor B & B. They really do need to address this.
The room was comfortable, food excellent, staff professional and friendly, lovely gardens, beautiful area.
Nothing really. Would have been nice to have a fridge and coffee making facilities in the room but not really necessary as anything could be brought to you by the staff.
The setting is idyllic with beautiful gardens. The service was excellent and breakfast and dinner was delicious.
Too many pillows and the comforter was to heavy
The standard of furnishings. Spacious comfortable room.
We were unable to eat dinner in the dining room due to a wedding reception(?)
Friendly staff and high staff to guest ratio Peaceful setting Excellent cuisine Good wine list
They don't know how to make a decent cup of tea, too weak when we had afternoon tea and morning tea in our room, too strong at breakfast; we were never asked what type of tea we wished. Bacon at breakfast overcooked, hard and tasteless (supposed to be smoked but we couldn't tell) Bedroom needed redecorating, with marks on wall and stain on bed cover, yet we were upgraded!
Enjoyed the tasting menu and breakfast. Room we we're given was excellent and staff friendly.
Lounge rather small and gloomy, had to wait a while to get a drink from bar. If you like a very very quiet place this is for you.
The hotel is situated in the most stunning, quiet and peaceful location. Beautiful building and gardens, comfortable rooms and fantastic staff. The Michelin star restaurant is superb with a wine list that will excite any wine lover. A very knowledgeable waiter helped us with our choice and recommended an excellent wine. Breakfast was fantastic too!
Wi-fi very disappointing. On a menu where you pay £72.50 for 3 courses, supplementary payments on a few dishes just didn't sit right with us.
The garden, the setting, the food!
Lack of wifi throughout
Staff could not do enough for us even after a wedding party checking out as we arrived. They made our small group feel special . Communication prior via email was excellent. Chef even made a birthday cake as requested .
Weather. Bank holiday weekend .. Of course it tipped down with heavy rain the who've time we were there and we were unable to enjoy the beautiful gardens. Can't blame them for that.
Thought they need to do some redecorating
Lovely comfortable rooms, attentive staff and a great location for walks and access generally to the Cotswolds.
A minor issue that Wi-fi only accessable in bar/drawing room and not all parts of those rooms
It was a great hotel - staff were amazing - the taster dinner was fantastic - well done for running such a great hotel - we will certainly be back again in the future.
The attention to detail on everything was fantastic. Particular credit to Aaron and Lucas who could not do enough for us to ensure that our stay was exquisite. To return again, I am sure.
Oh, you must get the WIFI sorted. It is terrible and it is expected that this is in every bedroom in this modern age. Sorry.
The accommodations were lovely. The staff went out of their way to make us feel special. The dining was superb.I have traveled the world and rate this place the best hotel I have ever stayed. Highly recommend. Pricey but you get what you pay for.
Everything was perfect.
There was no WiFi at all !!
Very helpful staff, but almost cloyingly attentive. Go here for the food, not the facilities. The food is excellent, but don't expect a good internet connection, a beautiful bedroom or any of the other accoutrements of a luxury inn. The room accommodations are actually rather spartan. When dining, request a seat in the main dining room, not the annex. The main DR is beautiful. The latter is rather plain and not up to the standards one would expect of a first-tier restaurant.
We expected the stay at Lords would be one of the highlights of our trip to England. It did not live up to our expectations, was really rather disappointing. Also, beware getting stuck with the bad taste of having 10% added to your bill at check out. It is only a "suggested" gratuity, not mandatory, but one is presented the information in a way that makes you feel that it would be terribly poor taste to have it removed from your bill. I recommend requesting that the charge be removed. If you feel that approach is somehow unfair to the wait-staff, then ask that the gratuity be calculated only on meals and not on the room charges (which is what I wish we had done).
One of the top small hotels I have stayed in. Friendly, Polite staff, knowledge of wine, food, guidance on routes to travel etc first class. Building, room, ensuite all first class, Restaurant up to Michelin Standard, situated in a beautiful Cotswold village. Not cheap but outstanding on any world scale. Sommelier Jeremy fabulous wine recommendation, Andy couldnt do too much for us, and the French/German Wait staff were superb.
Peaceful and tranquil location in heart of Cotswolds, walks and places to visit if needed.
Quite relaxing food superb friendly staff and very helpful
No tea making facilites however staff will bring it to your room if you ask for it and it is complimentary
