I like the look of the rooms and loved that it was clean.
The staff were not friendly at all. I would ask them for directions. They were not clear. I would ask them about places to visit/eat in Glasgow. They replied with "I don't know". I ask them for a taxi one night and they said you can walk into town. Not friendly at all.
Excellent service, polite staff and very clean, welcoming environment.
Disappointed in the curry , starter burnt , complained and got no reaction ! Served by about 8 different people , very irritating and harassed meal .
I like the fact that it is in front of the bus stop and u can just get the Red tour bus and look around glasgow. And it is near so many shops , there is one japanese shop and chinese shop and european shops and bars just around the corner. It is near Kelvingrove museum and it is near University of glasgow (10)minutes walk so u can just look around. also u can use bus no 19, 3, 7 to get to city centre in 10 minutes.
I did not like the fact that i have to carry all my stuff by myself since they don't have the bell boy service but other than that it is good.
All of the staff , incl those in the restaurant, were courteous, pleasant and helpful.
Location and Practicality but overall the willingness of staff to resolve things in our favour. The room we were given was too small but they happily upgraded us to a more commodious one. The Lorne Hotel do a really good breakfast - on the surface of it, it seems quite traditional, however, they do wonderful poached eggs - quite uncommonly good.
Staff very good & booked taxis for us when asked. Room very nice. If staying longer would pay for a bigger room. Room in adequate for a one nighter. Indian restaurant excellent. Would definite recommend.
Hotel was modern, extremely clean and was a delight to stay in.
Only negative would be the bar area was quite cold, as was the room.
The clean room was modern and had evrything we needed for our one night stay. Although there was a function going on we didnt hear a thing and slept well. Good bar and breakfast.
Very poor lighting in the corridors verging on dangerous. Surprised this is allowed actually, would be impossible to find your way out of this building in the evet of a fire unless you were very familiar with the layout. This feature may be marginally energy saving but adds nothing positive to the stay at this hotel.
Extremely handy for the west end
I have stayed in the hotel twice now in the last couple of months great hotel with friendly staff and will b staying again great value for money
Hotel is fab and the decor is lovely. Dinner was first class and the staff very helpful and friendly. Will return.
Great Indian resturant,great cocktail bar.
Room was a bit small.
The location was fantastic for restaraunts and bars. That was the main reason we booked the hotel. Staff very good as well.
There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the toilet. This was likely to be coming from other guests smoking in the toilet as the vent system will be common. Couldn't take a shower in the morning it was the strong.
The food and drink downstairs were excellent also very close to the hydro.
There was no sign of any Lorne sausages
The location of the hotel was perfect for us and central to everything via a short taxi ride
The single beds in the suite were lumpy and well used suggestion to have firmer mattress
Décor,modern Value Cleanliness dining room
Bed a bit small
room on same floor as function room which held a xmas party. being unable to get a drink at the bar due to staff totally ignoring you.
I and my partner spent 2 night here at the Lorne. I would like to say the hotel, Staff and most of all the manager "Paul" was top rate in my opionion. I will be back next year as my stay was fab. M.Stanley
The cocktail bar!
Insist on a room facing the street rather than the rear of the building as it wasn't pleasant looking out the window. Shower was very poor.
For the price, an excellent "bolt hole" and ideal for the restaurants and bars in the excellent Finnieston area - also a short and cheap taxi ride to city centre
Room rather small for a "classic double", but only an observation rather than a minus at the price!
The staff were very helpful. The breakfast food was generally very good and we were impressed at being asked to wait while it was refreshed.
The double room was quite small but fortunately had a good view.
Bar and restaurant are beautiful laid out and add uniqueness to it in terms of decor. The lounge is also great with flamboyant yet traditional furniture. Staff are helpful. Food is great.
Car parking is an issue as there is not hotel car park, paying for your car at the meter can be a real pain. No snacks at the bar whilst you enjoy a cocktail at the bar. Bedrooms lack the boutique atyle decor it once had, now it's basic and bare apart from the nice colourful curtains. A few years ago you were given toiletries in the bathroom - not anymore. Just a 2 in 1 dispenser for shampoo and body wash.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly reception and breakfast staff. My visit was to visit family in Glasgow as well as some business. I would use the Lorne Hotel again and will recommend to friends and family
Hotel location, walking distance to Hydro and town center. Good breakfast.
