Louisa Lodge & Purbeck House Hotel  

Our room was very spacious and comfortable; the bed was a bit springy but not uncomfortable and the room had everything in it we needed. The room was very warm which was lovely but unusual. We enjoyed looking around the hotel as it had some very interesting aspects to it and a lot of history. We enjoyed our dinner and the breakfast was very good. Our waiter for dinner and breakfast could not be faulted, very polite and knew what he was doing. All in all a very comfortable stay.

For people that have a mobility problem not having a lift is very difficult and a more extensive dinner menu would be an advantage.

It was a nice hotel in a good position for exploring Swanage and the surrounding area.

The bar and restaurant prices were a bit steep and there is never enough tea, coffee and milk in the room.

I wanted to show my girlfriend from Italy, Rome my Home town Swanage and believe the purbeck house hotel was the best place to stay. on arrivle my girlfriend and wanted to swop rooms from Lousisa Lodge to the main building, which staff kindly did for us. The staff are friendly and room was clean, and would be happy to stay again

Full English Breakfast was a bit of a let down to be honest. but had Kippers the next day which tasted great

Only thing I would think I would find problem with would be in winter time havin to walk from lousia lodge to conservatory for breakfast and to have room service is more expensive than having it in hotel

I took my parents for a trip to the Purbeck area and they loved Swanage and the Purbeck House Hotel. The main building of the hotel is beautiful with great features. We were staying at Louisa Lodge in the back of the complex, which is a new building but lacks the character! It is clean and comfortable, but not a very high standard and decorated in an unfashionable way. It is very central, great location. Visitors parking at rear. The main thing is that my parents liked it!

I booked the Hotel as a treat for my parents and they absolutely loved it! They had never even considered it before as alays thought it would be too expensive, but was really reasonable - the bar food was fantastic and very reasonably priced. My parents said the they staff were extremely help and couldn't do enought for you. The hotel itself was the best they had ever stayed at and very spacious - lots of grounds and gardens etc. Also the room was HUGE!! We have already recomended this to friends who have already booked.

Very friendly and helpful staff, good sized rooms, we stayed in the Louisa Lodge and paid extra for a room with a sea view, 100% worth it, lovely view! The hotel is in a very good location, idea for exploring swanage and the local area, ideal for coastal walks and the steam train which is a must when in Swanage! The food in the Thomas Hardy restaurant is gorgeous and well worth the money. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and has a large free car park.

The breakfast could have been improved with a vegetarian option for a full english rather than just removing the meat items eg veggie sausages

Very relaxed, friendly staff, situated in town, so once parked up could walk everywhere and gernerally loved the feel of the hotel being oldy worldy. Would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

We had an extra large room in the old house, furnished in style and with lovely views over the town to the sea. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

the room was excellent, the breakfast was excellent. thoroughly enjoyed the stay and will definitely go back.
