Comfortable bed Condiments
Dirty walls Stained bedding and towels
It was very close to the science park.
The walls are flimsy, I heard the TV from next door. A previous occupant had smoked in the room.
MY EXPECTATIONS WAS SURPASSED WITH RESPECT TO ROOM COMFORT, COURTEOUS HOST, VERY RICH FREE BREAKFAST AND HIGH LEVEL HYGIENE
NO DISLIKES. SO FAR SO GOOD
The hotel appeared mostly clean. The beds were comfortable and there were glasses and tea/coffee. It is near to the bus stop to get into town and parking isn't an issue.
Staff weren't very friendly on arrival. Given two keys, no mention of what the second one was for. It wasn't until we had trouble with locking the door that they shouted up the stairs you had to push the button in on the inside first. At breakfast only one of the waitresses spoke English. We asked for a vegetarian breakfast and they brought out sausage and bacon on the plate. When told no meat, it came back with bacon on it. She then took it away after we explained again, only to not be given anything at all. It took asking 6 times before, in the end, giving in and ordering beans on toast.
Breakfast was quite good - coffee was nice. Beds were comfortable.
Toilet flush in our 'en suite' was utterly ineffective - fortunately there was a separate toilet nearby. Several lights in our room were not working.
Good breakfast (just English breakfast) and very clean and spacious room.
A little far from the city centre, but good connections with buses even if after 23.00 only taxis can bring you to the hotel.
The full english breakfast and the serving breakfast were very good, the bad was arranged every day, quiet area, bus station five minutes away
Stained but clean linen, Bathroom sink has two battery tubes, one hot and one cold tap, wi-fi is not free, you should pay one pound per day, the shower cap was not renewed after each use, in the room there is no refrigerator
hotel that did not have beer on tap .. dining room not open on weekends staff that could no speak English rating 3/10
I'm a little mystified by the negative reviews on here, as these do not align with my experience whatsoever. - The staff were very helpful and good humoured. - The room was clean. - Parking was free and available for our very large van. - Breakfast was cooked to order. - There is also a pub that does food 1 minute away. - I have to return to Cambridge in a couple of weeks, and I will happily stay here again.
It's not the Ritz, but of course I'm not paying Ritz prices.
dirty towels dirty room disgusting shower far from everything
Easy access to city centre and motorway network. Good value for money. Excellent breakfast.
Walls a bit thin between rooms. Can hear floorboards and bathroom noises.
Breakfast was very fast and bus stop across the road
Mould on ceiling in the bathroom, and the distace from the centre was significant.
Quiet room and had a good nights sleep. Pub next door serves food until 9.30pm. Morning staff were very plesant and attentive and breakfast was lovely. Approx 10-15mins drive from Cambridge Grafton Centre by car
Rooms could have been cleaner some ominous stains on the bed runner :S No bath only shower Dated decor within the room Old hairdryer( so take your own) Night porter could have provided better customer service Difficult to find -not easily noticable from the road
Breakfast was good cooked to perfection. Room was clean if a little dark and dated.shower was hot. Bed very comfortable
guy receptionist could have smiled a bit more! First impressions are important
Has a car park.
The attitude of staff is poor. Two far away from the town if you does not drive.
I paid £70 per night for B&b. I was not expecting total comfort for the price all i wanted was somewhere to sleep for at the end of the days I was working and that is what I got. The hotel was very clean, the bedding was changed every day as was the toweling, the rooms were clean. There was a bed as well as a work desk a television two seats and coffee making provisions as well as an excellent shower. The room was quit and very basic but so was the price and it fulfilled it's purpose for me. Overall I was happy with it. I almost there is broadband available if you require it. Just ask and you are connected.
The breakfast started at 07.30 and as I had to be out of the hotel before 08.00 I never got any breakfast for two of the three days I stayed there, I would have liked the breakfast to have started half an hour earlier but it did not, they would have said that that was my personal circumstances, probably a fair comment but after all that said, that was what I paid for bed AND BREAKFAST I had to live on coffee all day, I wish that I had paid extra for an evening meal. I did however manage to get a breakfast on the third day and it was a very good breakfast. There were two very basic wooden seats in the room that were very uncomfortable, the television was on a bracket at the top of the wall, it was to high, you had to sit on one of these uncomfortable seats and look up at the tv screen which really gave me a sore neck after a while so I did not watch much television in the hotel. The rest of the stay was all right.
Easy access to city center via public transportation.
Very small room (the smallest i have ever stayed). Personnel not so friendly. Average cleanness. Not so cheap.
Very gloomy 1st room, noisy fan, inadequate bedside lights. Unlockable window. Changed to a much better 1st floor room.
On arrival we had to ask for clean bedding as the quilt covers on the beds were dirty. The whole hotel is very shabby and dirty and we will not be returning!
very good hotel we were surprised doing well
quiet location, for access to town centre, friendly atmosphere and excellent staff and the breakfast was v.good.
Very poor value for the money spent.
everything except the noise of the boiler through the night try to avoid room 318.The Breakfast 8 out of 10
Accommodation does need a bit updating.
