Hotel facilities and Location to Lake Windermere. Staff where very friendly and helpfull
Was a little further than we expected from other bars, shops etc.... the beds where a little too soft so we didnt sleep too well
Booking 10 months previous and being placed in annexe back of hotel not in actual hotel it was a warren and very confusing. That's second time very disappointed with your company.
- STAFF - lOCATION - fOOD - BEDROOM
Location was stunning and walking distance to local villages.
Being charged £20 for dog cleaning..dogs made no mess. I wasn't aware of this charge until we checked out.
Staff were professional and friendly. The hotel itself is well presented and comfortable. The food and service was excellent. We were very happy with the location and can recommend the short walk (2 miles) up the hill and across the fields down into Ambleside. It was a rare treat to be away for a short weekend and we were delighted with our choice.
The weather, the quality of accomodation, the leisure centre and the view.
the 20 minute wait for a table at breakfast
Cocktails great, food good, view stunning but on a busy road. Rooms comfortable
Reserved a table in the restaurant for a quiet meal for my birthday unfortunately there was obviously an event of some sort on that evening which meant there was a very large party in at the same time, the noise was deafening! Had to raise our voices to have a conversation, if we had been told about this when we booked in for dinner we would of made reservations elsewhere
The style could be updated and given a little panache at a relatively low cost.I feel the hotel would recoup any expense easily .
Location Food Staff
my wife was recovering from a replacement knee operation, the receptionist seeing her condition informed us that she would re place our designated room with a larger room near the lift. the room and bathroom were excellent. first class customer care
nothing worthy of comment to dislike at LOW WOODS
The downstairs seems like a completely different hotel, like something you would find in a 5 star hotel. Were there for a wedding and each room where a part of the wedding was held looked fantastic with great views. The rest of the hotel needs to catch up!
The wallpaper peeling off the walls in our room. Large sink in the bedroom. Dirty carpets. Rooms need a good refresh. £15 pp for breakfast is far too expensive, bought breakfast for myself and my wife in Ambleside including coffees for cheaper than £15!
Wonderful View, Wonderful building, Good breakfast
Free Wifi but no signal in room
Leisure facilities, superb views, food in restaurant
Lots of stairs may not suit everybody but there was the offer to help with luggage.
Location and view over Windermere. Food and choice of dining. Helpful staff & leisure facilities.
Nothing, all good.
The hotel is a big old building with a fair amount of character and lots of twists and turns in the corridors. The view is beautiful, and it is easy to get to most parts of the Lakes from there. Good food, slightly pricy though. The room was big enough, with a nice bathroom.
The A591 is literally 2 feet away from the hotel, between it and the lake - and it is a permanently busy road. That made it difficult getting out of the hotel by car, and also made the room noisy. The hotel was packed on the Friday I was there, which made the service in the restaurant a bit slow (although the staff did their best).
We were treated so well, as it was a special occasion we were made to feel very special indeed. Prosecco, chocolates etc a pleasant surprise. The food was excellent, in all we had a memorable stay. We had 2 days at the hotel 40 years ago on our our honeymoon . Thank you to the staff, all wonderful.
every think about this hotel was great will be back next year and lots of my friends are going to book up JOHNNY OBAN
Great location with stunning views. Easy access to Windermere, Keswick etc. Food was fantastic and staff were very helpful and friendly.
The room got warm - could have done with a fan.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent . I would recommend and stay there again.
The road was very noisy. Don't think the double glazing working. Air supply poor because we couldn't open window.
Easy to find and nice views. Nice walks near by, great range of activities to do. Friendly staff. Good facilities available in the hotel and it didnt seem like you were on top of one another especially when we went as it was fully booked.
Room 10 which we stayed in faced onto the road and was extremely noisy, although the good point was it had lovely views of the lake. Restaurant food was expensive especially in realtion to portion size - there was no atmosphere in the restaurant and you could hear everyone elses conversations and them eating!!!! The water pressure was very low in the bathroom and the spa bath panel was cracked. Entrance /Exit to car park is a bit dangerous
Staff friendly and helpful. Bedroom clean and comfortable but require some updating
Breakfast really good and evening meal good value, but had to wait 50 minutes for main course as we did not have a starter. Staff all very good.
Bathroom walls needed cleaning. soap dispensers did not work. Bits on the floor.
Loved everything about the hotel and location
Lovely views of the lake from the hotel.
Disappointingly though, our room did not have a lake view and for the price we paid I would have expected it to have (I think it should clearly state this when advertised). We refused to pay an extra £25 a night for this privilege! Room + bathroom very small, shower going hot + cold. Decor in the room was tired + worn.
Location was beautiful, right on the lake side. The road outside was quite quiet so wasn't really an issue for us.
The room was very dated and for the price we expected much more. The bathroom was also dirty, clean towels were left on the floor as there was no towel rail and at a four star hotel I would have expected complimentary shampoo and conditioner.
