The hosts seemed to have thought of everything - whatever is needed to make a stay comfortable and welcoming.
Great service and old world charm a lovely ambience to the whole guest house in a remote town set among stunning countryside.
We can not control the weather (yet)
The staff were really nice and very helpful. We were welcomed with a large pot of tea and shortbread in the gorgeous lounge with a huge blazing fire. The room was lovely and there was tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits and a wide selection of toiletries in the bathroom. We were travelling with someone with special dietary needs and nothing was too much trouble for them. We will be back.
Thin walls but, saying that, our sleep was not disturbed in any way.
friendly welcome without being intrusive great attention to detail lovely personal touches really clean and quiet fresh cooked breakfast at a desirable time!
can't fault anything - it's a great place to stay!
We were made most welcome when we arrived. The room was very comfy and clean and the breakfast excellent. This was our second visit to this B&B and recommend it highly
Attention to detail from start to finish
Tea in the lounge on arrival. File of menus for local restaurants. Owner then booked our choice for us. Only a short walk into the village. Used a leaflet from reception to follow a guided walk round the village before dinner. Tasty breakfast.
Shower pressure was a bit low.
The friendly staff and the lovely quilt on the bed.
The people in the next room had very loud voices!!
Friendly welcome. Tea on arrival. Quiet location.
Pot of tea on arrival warm Welcome, Location, Friendly Staff
Comfortable, quiet guest house Good breakfast Very friendly, helpful hosts Close to village centre, pubs, shops. Very good value.
The passion of the couple who own the Manor for Alston and the local area. Supporting local producers and Fair Trade...
The reception, dining room and bar were below ground level and the lounge upstairs. Difficult for people with disabilities...too many stairs...
Laura and Richard were very welcoming, nothing was to much trouble. So friendly. Room was beautiful and the tree outside was amazing. Highly recommend.
Seriously there was nothing to not like.
Attention to detail. Decor. Choices for breakfast. Welcome tea/coffee. Guest lounge was beautiful. Loads of local information in folders for guests. Friendliness of owners. I could go on.....
The towel heating facility which can dry my washed clothes very well!

Room was small.....but the building was 18th century.
