Location . Relaxing ambience. High end restaurant all show poor response to diet requirements.

The cuisine and service. A michelin star must be expected. The £65 Dinner Menu we found to be excellent value.

Location, large room, very comfortable bed, attention of staff, breakfast No lift, steep stairs and very narrow corridors. No English mustard available - only Dijon. Wardrobe capacity was too small and not enough for two people in such a large double room.

Room was excellent, bathroom first class. all very clean. Staff were outstanding. Food was sublime, setting is stunning. Pretty expensive, but in many ways worth it. Over £500 for dinner, bed and breakfast is a lot of money. I enjoyed spending every penny, but £450 for a night D B & B would have been better !

The beautiful setting and character of the building. Its prime location in the Cotswolds. Charming and professional staff. Delicious and plentiful portions of food. That our short stay was so short.

Lovely room in a lovely location, we would be happy to recommend it highly. (We also checked out The Lord of the Manor in the next village for our next visit - miserable unwelcoming staff - do not stay there!) Overly attentive staff and frequently pushing the three course dinner at £65 per head focusing on price not content. Garden needs some tlc.

Everything ... from its idyllic location in a beautiful Cotswold village (with NO traffic or noise) to its excellent rooms, service and everything else one can expect of a luxury hotel ... were it to be star-rated, them 5* would not be enough. We only stayed 1 night and the 1 thing we found not to our satisfaction was that the Hotel was fully booked the following weekend and we were unable to extend our stay :-((

Just there for one night. Had passed by on previous occasions and thought how nice it would be to stay there. How right we were. Everything a hotel should be from incredibly helpful and friendly staff to absolutely luxurious accommodation. Best thing about it was the free upgrade. Didn't have dinner there but the breakfast was superb. Thoroughly thoroughly recommended.

Great location. Staff attentive. An up grade to a junior suite was excellent. Evening meal was poor (quality and value for money)and breakfast not great . Would recommend but with a caveat regarding dining.

Professional and friendly staff, a combination hard to come by and need to be applauded. The best English breakfast I have ever sampled included in the room rate. Very stylishly appointed rooms with the room heated up for our arrival. The complementary in room house sherry kept us warm inside as well. Beautiful rural Cotswolds setting. Loved the easy stroll around this classic English village. Wouldn't mind living here at all. They have everything covered to the fine detail.

The room was lovely, some of the staff were friendly others however found it hard to pull a smile, some of them however were quite friendly, I would not recommend to travel with kids to this hotel as they r not terribly child friendly. Their sister restaurant across the road is no good, I mentioned since it is the only alternative to Dining with kids in lower slaughters. I would return however with any children. I was very disappointed when I found out that I had to book to have high tea in the afternoon, no one told me when I enquirered, I found this ridiculous.

Beautiful restaurant and evening meal, although breakfast was spartan and unimaginative. Stunning old building and gardens in idylic location TV didn't work, gas fire broke and some room fittings were cheap and nasty (ie wardrobes and TV cabinet). Staff frequently had to be re reminded of requests for service or facilities
