“For a french woman as me, a great lover of british style, iLower brook hotel is the best choice. A cute village in the Costwolds, a lovely house with british style, a discret but efficiency staff. The food is good (I loved the scrumbled eggs with organic salmon at breakfast). The room very comfortable (tea, cofee, cookies and apple, a gown and many other nice things). And the prices low for the quality.”

Anna and Jullian were lovely hosts! We enjoyed a dinner there and had our wine in their cozy Living Room beside the huge open hearth fireplace. The breakfasts were outstanding and you were able to order from a menu of several entrees. Mouth watering jams and orange marmalade made by Anna. There were "goodies" in our room every day. The best short bread I have tasted made by Anna. The grounds are beautiful and there is a lovely place outdoors to enjoy the fresh air. We would highly recommend Lower Brook House. In fact our friends that live in London are going there this weekend!!!

we are travel agents therefore knowledgable and discerning although we were on hilday and didnt declare as such overall it was ok but more like a b and b rather than five star country hse therefore poor vfm far too expensive and overhyped for the reality rooms were ok not brillaint coffee poor at breakfast no choice of starters at dinner overall space was limited and grounds uninviting a wasted opportunity and a classic eg of offering too much and providing to little disappointed and would not go back nor recommend to others.

It was lovely and quiet and the bedroom was cosy, comfortable and with a beautiful 4-poster bed (as promised). It had a special guesthouse feel about it, as opposed to a hotel, and due to the small number of rooms, the setting was very intimate and homely, and a warming fire. The food was good but not more than that. I have to say I was surprised to see such a large choice on the dinner menu (about 8 mains if I remember correctly), particularly for such a small place. So perhaps they could reduce the menu choice and then concentrate on making 4 main dishes truly excellent!

A fantastic B&B in a wonderful location. Would love to live in Blockley one day! Hosts were very accommodating and we felt extremely welcome. Great breakfast and good value for money. Only comment to improve would be to add a shower in addition to the spa bath in our room.

Bathroom not functioning properly, and TV not working. Inadequate extraction from kitchen meant clothes smelling of the cooked breakfasts.

Hotel full of character and charm. Attentive hosts - welcoming and driven to ensure guests have a good stay as evidenced by little extras - apples, fresh milk and cake in room were a real treat. Three course dinner was cooked superbly and was good value. Good choice available at breakfast and food was well cooked. We stayed in 'The Northwick', the second most expensive room in the hotel, presumably because of the four poster. While the room was tastefully decorated and we found the firm bed comfortable, accommodation was let down by rather basic bathroom where shower was hand held and radiator did not work - a little refurbishment would make a great difference and justify the high price of this room.

Tastefully decorated and welcoming small country hotel. Friendly yet unobtrusive staff. The food for the evening meal was truly excellent and the breakfast, which was included in the price of the room excelled. We would definately visit again and go back just for the food!

Lovely open fire and flagstone floor, food excellent quality in small pleasant dining room. Location in lovely village that was not too busy or touristy but just near to all the main market towns. Went to Batsford Aboretum to see the autumn colours, well worth a visit. Our room was comfortable and prettily decorated with a comfortable bed but the heating was not on when we got there so was a bit chilly and unwelcoming, and the bathroom let it down a bit as the radiator did not work and there sink and bath were chipped and need to be re enamelled. There was only a hand held shower. However as the rest of the room was lovely and the overall feel of the hotel was very nice we did not raise this as we felt happy with our stay overall.

the location and delicious cake left in the room each day.nice toiletries. the room was the smallest there but it should only be classed as a single room. The tv had a mind of its own. the bathroom needs an update, there were brown stains on the tiles, round the bath taps and on the bottom of the shower screen. The owner of the hotel only spoke to us on checking in and out, he completely ignored us any other time.

Very comfortable and friendly. Food excellent, The room was advertised with a hot tub, very disappointed to find out on check in that it was only a spa bath, the hot tub was a reason which made us select lower brook house.

We had one of the smaller rooms but the quality of the decor more than made up for that. It was absolutely lovely. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and the snack that awaited us upon our arrival was a pleasant surprise. So pleased that we were able to stay at Lower Brook House.

The location is absolutely superb. Blockley is a gorgeous little village with all the charm and character you could wish for. Also, the food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The small restaurant may not be to everyone's liking, but I fail to see how the food could not impress. Although the Dinner menu was limited in terms of choice (I assume to reduce wastage) the food was excellent, tasted fresh and was well prepared and presented. Breakfast was similar insofar as excellent ingredients, with a good numer of choices available ! Whilst it being a Grade 2 listed building clearly added to the charm, I am assuming this dictated the size of the rooms, ours was "Northwick" which was very small and not very well appointed. However, my biggest criticism which, being charitable may be affected by maintenance costs, was the cost ! The expectation set by the website was consistent with the price, which I was happy to pay if it was as advertised. However, there were several shortcomings with the hotel itself, the room and the welcome. Whilst not an unpleasant stay I felt overcharged for what the hotel offered !
