Location, value for money, size and comfort of room, breakfast.
Some late-night noise from fellow guests.
Swarms of youths blocking all corridors.
The location was good for both the station and the purpose of my visit with the thames just around the corner.
Nothing, it was much better than expected.
The staff went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. When the washing machine card system didn't work, the manager even paid for me to do laundry. Breakfast was plentiful and the rooms were cleaned well everyday. I really had an exceptional experience on a budget. The value really could not be beat and the location was just awesome.
The condition of the rooms is great. We really liked the beds - they were really comfortable. The food was good as well. It was very convenient ot have a bar in the hotel. The staff was always helpful. The location is perfect.
The walls were thin and we could hear other people in the other rooms. The breakfast was the same every day and the 6-items menu was kind of strange and, in our opinion, unnecessary. The last day, the bar didn't open.
Accommodation reasonable at the price. Breakfasts very good if somewhat crowded.
The location was perfect, as we were going to the Globe 5 minutes away. The room was basic, but clean, plus the beds were very comfortable and we slept well. There was plenty of hot water for showers. No TV might be a problem for some people, but was not an issue for us. The refectory style breakfast room was clean and the breakfast good and plentiful. Value for money was outstanding for London!
It is like a big student's house. But it is great. We were there with my mother, we had like an apartment, were two bedroom with private bathroom. The breakfast is good too. Really close to the tube and the Tate Museum. We had a wonderful time in London and the hotel helped a lot for that.
Too much noise of youngsters outside the front door, late, beyond the designated quiet time. In our room the toilet was not secured to to the wall and floor, but this was reported for repair.
Location, helpful staff, price.
Impossible to sleep even with ear plugs - really noisy plumbing e.g. when someone in another room was showering, think walls and noisy from corridor. Noisy outside too but that is to be expected.
Just 5 minutes walk from both the restaurant we were visiting and the tube station for travel
A little tired and could do with a lick of paint, but it was clean
Perfect location, large room, quiet, good breakfast
By no means luxury accommodation but it was comfortable, clean and above all great value for money.
Noise Run down decoration and fittings Limited breakfast
Friendly and helpful staff. Room basic but adequate and a view of the Shard! Wonderful breakfast.
Bed a bit hard and lumpy for my old bones. The room could do with an overhaul and a lick of paint.
Excellent location. Helpful and pleasant staff. Loved the breakfast system. Adequate room storage. Good internet access. Relaxed atmosphere.
The television was in the bar and couldn't be heard. This was the same last year. A big disappointment for a solo traveller who had hoped to relax quietly in the evenings. A couple of portables secured in a quiet place would be good. Felt a little strange not knowing who and when would be arriving to share the bathroom. Bed a little uncomfortable.
Closeness to Globe
The fact that we had to check out after night one and check in again TO A DIFFERENT ROOM for the next night. This was highly inconvenient. Though the nights were booked separately Bankside were aware at the Initial check in that we were staying for 2 nights that had been booked separately. We were amazed that there was no possibility of having the same room for 2 nights and this detracted significantly from our stay
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful - no fussing and didn't carry on talking to other colleagues when customers are around. Everything was good value for the money, its location was worth most of it. Well stocked facilities and a cooked breakfast. amazing.
the kitchen staff were quite abrupt and offhand at times but it wasn't that important.
Poor bunk bed, noisy surrounding.
Location Lots of places to eat nearby Spacious room
The efficient and helpful staff who greeted us, and those serving beakfast. The cleanliness of room 533. Only late at night did we come across one problem which stops me from saying excelelnce all round was achieved.
The absence of drinking water. The notice DO NOT DRINK was beside the tap in the bathroom. When just cold water was needed late at night it was just fortunate we had a fruit drink with us.
Good location for the South Bank / Southwark attractions, B&B option and their were plenty of choice for breakfast, Kettle and tea/coffee sachets in the room, decent sized room.
The constant noise of doors banging, the shower (shared with another room) needed a good clean/descaling, No drinkable water close to the room - the bathroom sink had a warning sign and the kitchen door was locked, no mirrors in bedrooms.
Location Helpful front desk Internet access Breakfast was delish Bed was made I did not expect that!
The male staff in the restaurant were extremely unprofessional, they swore and shouted to each other within ear shot of all dinners. Could do with a couple more pouches of shampoo
- price - location
- comfort - breakfast
Staff, breakfast, location were all fantastic.
After hours noise level from other guests and I have a high tolerance for noise. Beds were just at the edge of comfortable.
