The reception staff were great, room small but clean & just fine for a one night stay. Close to tube & breakfast was good.
The taps were No drinking water in the room or bathroom.
location, value for money
staff was nagging and quite unfriendly.
Good location, friendly staff and breakfast satisfactory.
Door to corridor banged quite loud every time someone came through so was woken up a few times.
noisy during night
For an evening out in Islington it was the ideal starting point with friendly and inviting staff. We would certainly use the LSE again as our choice of accommodation
nice breakfast, a nearby bus stop
The staff there always look unhappy. The light of the shared bathroom is dim, kind of creepy. The lift was not working during my stay, I had to carried a large n heavy luggage by myself up to Floor 7 without any help or even offering to help.
The location and breakfast is great for the price. The room is also good.
My room faces to the street. Thus it was noisy during the whole night.
Ermm mostly thatewe managed to still get a hotel at the last minute. The key card entry is a good idea and convenient.
Our room was a triple. 2 of the beds were fold out camp beds. One of the lamps in the room didn't work. Above the sink was a vanity light that didn't work and had burn marks from what we assumed was an electrical fire.
Cosmopolitan feel, all ages. Big breakfast
You should be aware this is student accommodation, no luxuries
Breakfast is great! Very close to King's Cross! Not expensive! WLAN works fine!
Not possible to directly get a hotel bill at reception. Not extremely comfortable...
Breakfast was really good and the staff were very helpful.
The cleanliness was questionable in the first room that we were assigned to, however, when we went to the staff to ask for new sheets because of a few hairs on the bed, they reassigned our room with no questions asked.
Good position. Convenient for tube station and buses. Great breakfast.
Most of us slept well although some of our group found it a bit noisy at night.
Great breakfast Great location Superb value for money!
The carpets were a bit rough under foot going to and from the shower
Facilities and cleanliness
Together with my boyfriend, I shared a private room, which we paid almost €100 per night for, and it was really old, nothing to make the room look nice, really Old beds and curtains and carpet. It just wasn't worth the money. For that price you could better go to a hotel
The location is excellent for short trips into central London on buses or the Northern Line, plus Islington is great for shopping and cafes, although coffee is expensive around this hipster locale. The room price is reasonable, the breakfast is a welcome inclusion, and the room Wi-Fi is useful and appreciated.
The showers were filthy, and despite complaints, the mould on the inside of the door hinges to shower cubicles was never cleaned. There was a man in the women's shower room, twice, and there's nowhere to hang your clothes, so they get soaking wet from the shower spray. Very poor, cheap design. The mattresses need replacing, and when a trolley is dragged across the overhead footbridge in the courtyard at night, it sounds like a train is passing through your room. Cleaning staff speak no English, so are difficult to communicate with. I suggest you take your own nice bath towel, a blanket if you need it - as extras aren't provided - and bottled water for your room, as signs indicate you can't drink the tap water.
- very well located (Bus 38 takes you very quickly to the centre) - breakfast is plentiful - quiet and tidy
- couldn't succeed in having hot water in the shower - some lamps out of order in the room, to be repaired
It was in a great location with lots of great bars and restaurants nearby. The breakfast was good and it was not to noisy at night. Good value for money.
For the most part everything was exactly what you might expect for a room in halls of residence. But, the 'shared bathroom' was not just a bathroom that guests shared at different times, but a unisex room in which there were 2 showers and 2 toilets and was an uncomfortable 'over share'.
no wifi signal
- Location - Bus number 19 and 38 - 45 GBP a night was the cheapest Central London option - Breakfast was very good - Student environment was very nice
- the hallway was noisy because the door would make a lot of sound when somebody entered... thats pretty much the only thing i didnt like... - wifi was a bit slow but survivable
Excellent Breakfast Helpful Staff on reception
Poor standard of toilet/shower facilities Lift out of order Problems with bookings Noise
no heating system the restroom is not good
Shared but good quality showers. Very Good breakfast included. Good information card reminding after checking in regarding the room number and breakfast times etc.
Poor information/ signage for the mens showers/ toilet. They were at the end of the corridor, the last door so very difficult to find for a first time visitor.
Good location and breakfast.
The room is a bit cold and the lift didn't work so I had to carry my heavy luggage downstairs.
Comfortable beds, clean, good breakfast, great value.
Sharing bathroom and kitchen
Good breakfast, fast wifi and good transport nearby.
