Great relaxing 5 day break with 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Have stayed in Luccombe Hall before but not the country manor. Preferred the country manor as the decor was more up to date. Beds really comfortable. Staff really welcoming and friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Teenagers loved the pool table and table tennis next door in Luccombe Hall. Food at breakfast was great although didn't have an evening meal. Would definitely come back.
Staff very good, good location
Breakfast had no taste , room walls very thin can hear every noise, bed poor
The breakfast room and breakfast was good. Room 27 double bedroom was the same as the picture. It is located near the steps to the beach.
Room 26 toilet was not clean, with mould on the window, and some other areas and has the smell of insect spray. The bed sheet, duvet covers, pillow, and duvet are of cheap quality. very uncomfortable.
Facilities were great... Outside pool, hotub and great breakfast
Bathroom very dated and a bit of mould because tiles weren't covering wall in shower...
Would definitely go back. Lovely comfortable rooms and clean bathroom. Easy walk into town for the fit and healthy! Lovely outdoor pool. Set on a cliff top location. Ample parking.
The walls were paper thin so you could hear people talking in the next room.
Well maintained Pool, gardens and lounge; children friendly, excellent location, pleasant bedroom. Helpful and friendly staff.
Cleaning is done superficially only, services poorly maintained, no light meals or children's meals available, absence of lift. Quality of breakfast poor.
Location is good (but to be fair, lots of hotels in that area)
Limited breakfast options Small and smelly room (very old!) Hotel staff is not very helpful. I waited for 20 mins and finally been "served" (aka telling me no food anymore for that night)! And most of all, overpriced!
we liked the pool the hot tub and the walk down to the sea, also the breakfast.
location, food, grounds
The location is ideal for walking, easy access to Shanklin and good sea views. We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was great!
Lovely to be situated on the cliff overlooking the bay. Very helpful staff who found a fan for my elderly parents and helped them in other ways too. Found a great bar for coffee and lunches on the Shanklin front towards the the far end where you could watch the world go by.
Nothing but you need a car if you are elderly or disabled.
Decor, comfortable quiet room, excellent breakfast and location.
Wish I had bought the ferry through the hotel at a cheaper rate.
Location and sea views excellent, food good
Room was very hot
Location & views Rooms very clean
Evening meals very poor No staff after 10.30PM
Booked for the leisure facilities and was not disappointed.
Lack of lift.
location is ok ish. But there are lots of hotel nearby with that view / or better view.
The hotel is very very old and outdated, not in a vintage way. Very strong smell. Facility is poor. Feels like a 2 star hotel. Staff is not friendly, I was waiting at restaurant for 15 mins with no one coming to serve. Sea view is overrated as it's partly blocked by a big tree. Definitely not value for money... Lots of 4 star hotels only charge similar money.
The staff was not friendly.
A fantastic week - great hotel and location. Staff were excellent and the breakfast was very good.
Minor complaints - room a little dark, blinds didn't always work and only 5 coathangers, but we still loved it.
We liked that we could have breakfast. We also liked that we could use the sister hotel facilities.
mostly everything.good manageress
The pool is lovely The tea room at the bottom of the garden Our room was nice and modern. *not all rooms have same decor though*
One day was really sunny and breakfast in the conservatory was like an oven. All the blinds were down so you couldn't take advantage of the sea view. They could do with a canopy or something to keep the sun out.
The location of the hotel was brilliant - so nice to sit eating breakfast in the conservatory with views of the sea. There were two large, comfortable lounges, and the swimming pool was lovely. Our room was kept beautifully clean and had lots of storage space. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Our room was quite small and so was the bed! Parts of the hotel looked a little dated and shabby. The breakfast was adequate, but nothing special. The complementary toiletries were tiny - definitely not enough for two people. The hairdryer was so small it was practically useless!
Very good location for beach and old village Excellent value for money Hot tub and pool
Entrance hall looks a bit dated which gives a lower expactation on the first impression.
We had a wonderful weekend at Luccombe Manor...my husband and I and our kids (12&10) all loved it. Location is perfect for the beach, pools are fab, easy walk into Shanklin with lots of great restaurants. We'll definitely be back!
