Accomodation,location and breakfast

The hotel was in the ideal location for us. The beach was easily accessible for us with our two young sons, both via the stairs down the cliffside at the back of the hotel, and via a very short drive through Shanklin Village. We visited Shanklin Chine which was also a very short walk away as were the local shops. The hotel staff were fantastic and very helpful. We booked the family sea view room which was aamazing. Great view and very clean and comfortable.

Nice hotel, but bathroom in room 11 is a bit poor (no bath, just a small shower cubicle). Over-priced for what it is, we have stayed at nicer hotels for the same money, and equally as good hotels for considerably less.

Very friendly and helpful staff - Excellent value and great room with sea view. Plenty of easy car parking and close to Shanklin and beaches.

Great location. Very clean rooms and bed linen. Great evening meals.

This is now my third visit and I'm sorry to say that there are a couple of things that have changed which mean that I will think twice before visiting again. Firstly the beautiful conservatory which used to be a great place to lounge on the sofas reading and admiring the views has now turned into the restaurant. Having breakfast here in the morning with the sun streaming into your eyes is not comfortable. I hate to think how hot it would be eating in this room in the summer. Then having dinner there in the evening is rather cold. Secondly, the waitressing staff have changed resulting in poor standard of service. (Eg waiting 45 mins for a croissant at breakfast is not what I expect)

Well appointed lounge. Good food. Staff friendly and approachable. Pet friendly.

En-suite very small and cramped. Felt hotel was a bit over-priced. In October, felt rule about putting dog in car while we had breakfast was okay, but I wouldn't be willing to do this in high summer or midwinter.

Very large well appointed room, spotlessly clean, comfortable lounge and bar. Staff were helpful if required. The position of the hotel was superb - near the old village, but near enough to the beach and amenities if required (if you were fit).

There appeared to be no lift, so this would have been a problem if you were disabled or had very heavy luggage. There was no mobile phone coverage (well no Vodaphone coverage, I suppose there could have been other)

The location was good, nice breakfast choice.

Internet access disturbed, not very flexible staff

It was a nice location, the public rooms and our bedroom were well-decorated, clean and tidy. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The only comment I would have here is that the en-suite bathroom was a little tired and needed an upgrade. It was clean, but a bit out-dated compared to the rest of the room.

The staff were all friendly and all seemed to remember my room number when I ordered meals, drinks, etc. Nice setting with sea views.

The reakfast coffee was not very strong, but I didn't bother asking for better.

Large Rooms Pool Friendly Environment

Families from sister hotel can use the pool and make it crowded & noisy

When i first arrived, i feel like this is a five star hotel. It locates just near the sea side. We can watch the sun rise just from our room window. The hotel is large and have all sorts of facilities, such as swimming pool, game room, extra. Me and my friend will definately to stay here next time we visit the island.

Efficient friendly staff, quiet location

It welcomed dogs, whilst this clearly pleases dog lovers it does not please people who do not have a dog.

The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was always clean and tidy and very comfy. Breakfast consists of mixed cereal choices and juices with a coice of cooked foods which are all cooked perfectly. The hotel is a good base for exploring the island and with its location being a five minute walk to the beach, down steps, and five minutes from Shanklin old village its perfect. The hotels outdoor heated pool and hot tub were perfect.

The only problem we found was the noise from other rooms i,e doors slamming and shouting.

Upkeep of hotel and grounds. Good standard of accommodation. Good service from staff. Excellent information from staff (Barbara in particular).

The food. Nothing really bad about the food - the breakfast haddock was dry, the only evening meal we ate there on our first night was overcooked -(again I had fish). We there for three nights - we could walk into Shanklin for restaurants - would not have liked to eat there for the three nights if as some guests were unable to walk into Shanklin for evening meals.

although it said it was pet friendly, they had no facility for us to eat meals with our dog, not even on the terrace

Luccombe Manor is a secluded, quiet hotel at the top of a cliff with great views of the coastline. The pool is large, heated (not solar, but real heat!), and is situated next to a grassy area with lawn chairs. The hot tub is a bonus. The kids loved the trampoline. Hot and cold breakfasts were very good and plentiful, with lots of choice. There's lots of lounge area for hanging out with pool table (but you have to pay for your games), dart boards, cards and free newspapers. This is a great place to just hang out and recharge.

They don't recycle. For one of the larger, more "upscale" hotels in this area, that doesn't show a lot of leadership. There's no giant chess outside, as advertised.
