The receptionist, maybe she is the owner, was very kind with always smiling. The location is excellent, just 3-5 minutes' walk from the railway station. Additionally, local bus station is also very close and you can go to the Iron Bridge easily. You can walk around Shrewsbury on foot from the guest house.
I stayed in a loft which was enough for me. But I felt that some space in the room wasn't made use of efficiently, for example, nothing wasn't put on the space under the beam. Though nothing annoyed me.
The friendly staff were very helpful and genuinely considerate and interested in guests and in ensuring a wonderful stay. Location, price, service and fascillities were great. I would definitely stay again and have recommended the Lucroft to friends and family since my stay.
Close to town, comfy bed, clean and welcoming
Could not sign into the WIFI,
Room was clean and of a decent size for the price. I love that it's so close to the train station . Literally 5mins walk .
The narrow stairs leading to the rooms on the upper floor.
Clean, comfortable, very helpful staff. Central.
Stairs, lack of parking, more so because of the annual flower show. Very busy traffic wise outside.
It was just near the station and easy to find. I was attending the folk festival and it was very nearby. The rooms were also comfortable if modest which was all I wanted.
Just the flights of stairs where my room was. This was not a particular problem for me but in years to come it might be.
Some steep stairs but I use a stick and coped well.
The host was warm, welcoming and wanted to do all she could so that you enjoyed your stay at the guesthouse. The room was clean, bed comfortable with beautiful white embroidery anglaise linen. I requested a vegetarian breakfast and it was cooked very well. The host provided a good selection of food for breakfast and In fact after breakfast I didnt need to eat until 5.00 pm each day. The guesthouse was well situated only being minutes way from the station and the main city centre.
My room was on the front of the guesthouse and the main road was just below my window. It was an extremely busy road at all times. I asked if I could change to another room but unfortunately there was not one available. I did lose a fair amount of sleep on each evening. On Saturday evening the noise was horrendous from the traffic racing down the road, music from either a pub or a club and revellers getting in taxis and slamming the doors around 2.00 in the morning. I would stay at this guesthouse again and would recommend it to anyone but only if a room was available at the back of the property.
Nice bathroom Comfortable bed Very helpful and friendly staff Great price Good location near train station
Could hear people in the hall as they passed
the room was lovely and clean and tidy.
traffic was very noisy
A 2 minute walk from the Train and Bus station. Lovely warm welcome.Beautiful clean and fresh bedrooms / breakfast lroom
Stayed in the Lucroft for 3 nights, I had read the reviews so wasn't expecting it to have the wow factor. It wasn't the owners fault that the road noise kept us awake on each night into the early hours, Friday and Saturday being the worst (a warning about road noise should be on the website) but the secondary glazing was poor quality and broken, I felt that the room could have been cleaner. I don't expect to find black hairs and stains on the headboard, stains on the carpets too. It doesn't take much to clean stains out of items nowadays. The light shade was black from the dust. It was the only available place to stay and it was cheap, but would I choose to stay there again - Im afraid not.
Location excellent. Good breakfast and quality linen.
The rear of the building was relatively quiet so we slept well..
Tiny cramped bathroom Cracked window Overlooked by property at the rear Customer service (not that friendly) Paying extra for breakfast?? Parking in a Railway carpark next to a night club. Incorrect WiFi key supplied
Friendly welcome, spotlessly clean, good breakfasts, well located. Great little grocer opposite for light meals.
Great location, clean and comfortable room with small shower and toilet friendly and welcoming staff, no parking outside but I was able to park in a private car park just across the road for an extra £3.00 per night. Great place to stay !
Location was excellent and room was clean and comfortable.
Room very hot, especially with afternoon and evening sun.
Very handy location and easy parking.
Great central location, clean and crisp bedding, friendly and helpful staff member, hearty breakfast, plenty of tea/coffee in the room, good free Wi-Fi connectivity, lovely old tudor building.
rather small bathroom and shower, and occasional whiffy smell from the sink.
Bed room was very clean. Bathroom was good. Bed was comfortable.
Lots of stairs and no lift.
It's very close to the railway station and town centre -- literally a couple of minutes' walk from both, which was immensely helpful to me as I was a backpacker using rail transport. Shrewsbury is an exquisite town and well worth a visit.
Very comfy nice breakfast great place to stay
Nothing everything was excellent
friendly welcoming staff breakfast - freshly cooked to order
a hair drier would have been useful
Great location, close to station and in town centre. Friendly and helpful owners. Tidy decoration, well maintained. Great breakfast.
Some noise from outside, due to being on a busy main street.
Friendly owners and a comfortable night
