I phoned in advance to double check it would be OK for my dog to stay. At the end of the weekend he did not want to leave. What more can I say. Brilliant!
I have stayed here a few times now and always enjoy the good food, comfortable bedroom and welcoming owners.
James and Nellie's friendliness. The scenery. The quirky character of the hotel.
James and Nelly are a lovely couple who go out of their way to welcome you and make you feel comfortable. The food is excellent and is supported by a good wine list and a well stocked bar.
Only the weather but that's nature for you!
Friendly welcome on arrival. Open fire, with cosy lounge, excellent food. Peaceful setting. Interesting old building - even more interesting owners. Only stayed for one night but would have loved to have extended the visit, had it been possible.
Having to leave!
Hosts very friendly and welcoming. Excellent breakfast with good quality produce. Good parking. Will definitely book again.
Selection of 136 Malts; Location - no light pollution; Food - both evening meal and breakfast were tasty.
Nothing to dislike.

One of the best breakfasts I ever had! Staff were very helpful and friendly
The food is really fab, and the breakfasts equally so
Friendly and welcoming hosts who couldn`t do enough for you. Clean room with superb shower.
No separate lounge to use if you didn`t want to sit in your room or bar/restaurant area.
The owners were kind and the hotel historic. More than a hotel, a travel experience.
This may not look much from the road but stop and give this a try. The rooms are old fashioned but that means they're spacious and we had great views. The bed was very comfy and there was plenty storage with a modern vanity unit and plenty of sockets. Fantastic modern spacious bathroom with powerful hot shower. Loved it. The bar was cosy with books and games with a lovely fire which is apparently lit on colder nights. We had a lovely meal there and in the morning decided we'd be back on one of those colder nights to sit in front of the lovely fire. James and Nelly were very nice too
There was nothing to dislike
Amazing food. James and Nelly were extremely welcoming and hospitable. We will return.

James was there to welcome us as we arrived and we settled quickly into our spotlessly clean room. That evening we enjoyed a meal from a varied menu, cooked by Nelly and served attentively by our host. Our surroundings had much to offer in terms of scenery and walking.Breakfast made a good start to the day too.
Good value, excellent food. Convenient for Killin and routes North.
