Room was lovely with a great view. Serving staff in restaurant were very nice and friendly. Thought en-suite in room slightly tired and would benefit from slight upgrading. Also would prefer a pot of tea with breakfast not a tea bag in a cup.

Very little. The review box does not allow one to give a full opinion of this hotel. The pictures and the light switches and power sockets were nice Attitude of management Service slow due to lack of staff Bedroom facilities poor No central heating for two nights No control for central heating when it came on Placed on top floor, 59 steps to room. There must have been empty rooms on lower floors. I have not answered question 3

would be ideal as a film set for filming movies set in eighties or seventies even a vcr and plastic furniture in lounge cold breakfast, dirty cutlery and glasses, whole hotel in need of a refurb. If it was done would have great potential.

Nice and friendly staff. Very good country side Hotel. Room, Bar, Dining room clean and comfortable. They have a new chef - he (or she) cooks very well. But as a foreigner I would expect a more "scottish" menu. They try it with Mediterranean kitchen - for that I go to Italy.

the waiting staff were great and friendly, food in the evening was good, but breakfast was not consistent, black pudding like rubber one day. room was very very dusty, this was cleaned upon complaint about the depth of dust on the tv, which made the room unbreathable as it warmed up,and the dust on top of the low battered wardrobe, (the only space for a bag) which sent a wave of dust into my face and on my kit bag, but not cleaned well. I had mentioned a toe nail that was on the floor by the bed when I arrived....... it was there when I left, no sign of hoovering at all.

Very comfortable bedrooms & public rooms. Staff friendly & very helpful. Nice setting with lovely walks & pretty villages nearby. Evening menu rather disappointing both in choice & quality, especially after reading good reviews. No help to take bags upstairs - with no lift, this would have been helpful for oldies like us!

We were upgraded to Honeymoon suite due to any error of hotel taken payment early. Waiting 30 mins for 2 hard boiled eggs, and when they came they were undercooked. Then waiting another 20 mins for it to happen again. Gave up, had toast for breakfast.

The staff were nice and friendly, the room was a good size and the food was really nice. The mirror in the bedroom we stayed in could for been up higher and another light beside it would be nice, if there had been another way to get into the hotel from the anex would be better than having to walk around the hotel (even though it isn't far just mor e of an inconveince)

Staff were very friendly and helpful, also very good price for bed and breakfast. breakfast was served between 8-9 which I thought was a little early (especially sunday morning) maybe 8-10 would suit people better.

The food was outstanding for the price & the presentation was way above average. Please pass on my compliments to the Chef, the menu was limited but the standard & quality was exceptional. The staff were friendly, very helpful & attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The conservatiry area & brasserie\bar area were comfortable, warm & well maintained. The fact that wireless connectivity was available in all areas of the hotel including our room & at no extra cost. We had a great nights sleep. We are planning to visit again soon with friends & have recommended this hotel as value for money. The hotel rooms are a little dated & money needs to be invested in to this area. We stayed in room 18 & unfortunately I noticed there was a rather large stain on the underside of the throw on the bed. We also had to contact reception as there was no towels available in the room. The shower was below standard, no pressure & the water was scalding hot, no working control of temperature & the overall condition of the bathroom was a little aged. However the room & bathroom was clean & well lit\ heated etc. Having said all this we had a great nights sleep & would definitely book & stay again with friends. We would just request a better room & would pay a little more for it.

The staff are excellent and extremely friendly. The bar is very comfortable and welcoming. The location of the hotel is excellent for access to the coast and Edinburgh. All-in-all my partner and I had a fabulous time. The room was very small and probably only should be used for single occupancy. There was also not much hot water while using the shower.
