breakfast good, location and setting good, quite setting
being on top floor room 521 experienced what seemed like water tank filling every-time other guests used water for shower/toilet etc
Lovely courtyard with water feature and benches for sitting outside. Lovely dining room with good choices of cereal, yoghurt fresh fruit, Danish pastries and boiled or scrambled eggs for breakfast.
Room had a musty smell which was on my clothes when I unpacked. The plastic cup in the bathroom had a smell of someone else's toothpaste so clearly had not been cleaned. Will not be going back
The lack of bathroom. The hole in the old matress. Absolutly no hot water in bathroom
Staff friendliness. breakfast great. Nice grounds. Lovely Owl!
Bed a bit rickety. Rooms prob need upgraded
location good breakfast friendly staff car park
Room was clean and well presented. Staff were friendly and helpful and it was in an easy to reach but beautiful location.
Friendly & very helpful staff
Comfort and peaceful environment. Second time staying with them and will be my first call next time I'm in Manchester.
A very welcoming home like environment
location - difficult to find
Lovely gardens Calm, leafy atmosphere Good breakfast Helpful staff Quirky - the antidote to chain hotels! Great location Handy for Rusholme Near Fallowfield Nice morning walk in Platt Fields
A little bit dusty Slightly tired, ropey furniture
Excellent location near the universities. Enjoyable breakfast.
kind staff. Good environment. Nice breakfast.
A little far from the city center. But many buses could ship you from there anyway.
Good place for the price The breakfast was nice
Uncomfortable mattress The TV was getting bad reception
Just a short overnight trip to Manchester with a friend, this was the perfect location for us, as we were visiting the university and student area of the city. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the room was quiet and comfortable. Breakfast included - wow! And it was a good one! What excellent value for money - we`ll be back.
I don`t feel able to criticise anything during our short stay.
Clean comfortable room, en suite, tv, etc, all satisfactory. Near to bus stops, nice grounds, excellent staff. Usually prefer cooked breakfast when travelling but this was fine. Have made several visits and look forward to making more.
More of an entertainment than a dislike but the plumbing was noisy and musical in my room (can't speak for others of course).
shower very old.the room...
It was very clean and cozy I'll definitely stay there again.
No WiFi in the room.
I really enjoyed my stay at Luther King House in August 2014. The hotel has an excellent location, with good transportation links to Manchester City Center. Breakfast is very tasty, rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. Great value for money!
Room was modest, but it had a comfortable bed.
Ideal couple retreat good value for money staff nice and polite and helpful will stay again when in Manchester.
Staff were very good, specially in the dining hall, Always ready to have a chat, and so very helpful. we shall go again, and we shall also tell our family and friends to stay at Luther King House.
Luther King is an ideal location for visiting old friends in the area. The place is not ostentatious and I like being surrounded by so many trees. All the staff are charming and helpful; I was unable to sample the bar as I had to drive quite a bit during my stay.
Having to leave. I would have preferred to stay for at least a week, but I had used up most of my holiday allowance for the year and ' surmised it would be prudent to have a few days in abeyance.
The whole ambience of the place and the staff who are always polite, efficient and kind. It is always a real joy to stay here.
Luther house is a cheap and nice hotel. It is a good location, and on the major bus route into town.
It would have been useful to have a second set of keys for the room. Invariably different people want to do different things in the city at varying times, which means some planning is needed with one set of keys.
It was quiet, friendly, allowed for luggage to be left prior to room readiness. Good breakfast included. And the call of the owls at night was very special.
