Luton Hoo Hotel, Golf and Spa  

Beautiful grounds, very comfortable room and excellent staff.

Wonderful historic building and rooms. Lovely setting. Wernher restaurant is quite exceptional. Golf course massive. Clay pigeon shooting top. Highly recommended as a historic and luxurious weekend. However I think you need to be in the main building - you wouldn't want to be in the modern block - no matter how sympathetically designed. That would eliminate the whole point of the experience.

Adam's Brasserie is not worth visiting for more than a sandwich. The rooms are historic and wonderful. However the quality of the decor is somewhat variable.

The location is delightful.

the rooms we were offered are in an out building where the bar and resturant are very average. The up market restaurant can't be bothered to open on Monday which shows how serious these people are!! A waste of a great facility obvious managed by amateurs.

Spaciousness, luxury, friendliness, quality, other worldliness, history. Staff were very helpful. Swimming pool, health and gym club facilities were very good. We would recommend the venue to others.

Couldn't find much background information at the hotel about the history (apart from the photos on display) which seemed to be because a book on the venue was being sold. The food and wines whilst very good were on the expensive side in the main restaurant. Suggestions: the gardens didn't seem as maintained as they should be for such a high quality venue -although the weather has been awful the rockery and pathways didn't seem to be being tidied up. The grounds could have been invested in more. Some of the features look tired and unkempt in contrast to the main hotel area. The tennis courts had a net missing and their condition wouldn't have compared favourably with similar hotels abroad. All these things wouldn't cost much to put right. We didn't see much evidence of re-cycling and re-newables though that may be happening at the hotel. We didn't see any solar panels on any of the extensive range of buildings in the site.

The food and service in the resturarant was excellant.

The temperature of shower in my room was not working.It was scalding hot or very hot.

Lovely building, comfortable room and great luxury in every details.

I liked everything about the Hotel it is nice to know that people like tradition it is also steeped in history,

You are transported into 19th century middle England. It's amazingly beautiful the main house is stunning. For me the best part was the 18m swimming pool with jacuzzi, steam, sauna. A really relaxing stay.

Some of the buildings required a little bit of upkeep but more importantly the lack of lighting from the main house to the rooms.

Didn!t like queuing on the drive to be given directions rather absurd when able to read signs. Thought booked in to the mansion house,but put in the annexe. This proved to be lovely,but no service offered with bags directions etc. Went to the Spa to look around, told could only view from outside,as too busy, insisted chance to look around told to sign in and take your shoes off. When went in very quiet. All reception staff could do with taking lessons from restaurant ,housekeeping and bar staff.

Beautiful location, lovely countryside and handily very near to m1 to get in and out of area even though you would not know! Beautiful interior of the stately home maintained with attention to detail. Werner restaurant is superb in decoration and the food is very good (although super expensive). Private old black taxis are maintained by Luton hoo to transport their guests around the estate to the spa, flower garden accommodation and the golf club and bar. A nice touch. We were placed in the flower garden wing which is a distance away from the main house and you will need to book the taxi to go for dinner in the evening as it is not a short walk in the dark park to the mansion. The rooms however were lovely and spacious and the bed probably the most comfortable we have ever stayed in and that's saying something. Super quiet as well! Great nights sleep!

We are local to Luton Hoo and have had some lovely special occasions at the Werner Restaurant and so decided to stay over night during the jubilee weekend for our wedding anniversary. However on this occasion the experience was underwhelming mainly due to the staff level of service and training and the expense incurred which did not appear representative of the overall experience. They also did not have any jubilee events going on nut the Sunday of the weekend and we stayed on the Saturday night. We thought at least there would be a jubilee themed menu or afternoon tea offers that showed British cuisine. Shame. The main issue was the staff skill level in the Werner restaurant and lounge area which was clearly not up to scratch for a 5star exclusive hotel with staff not seeming that interested in their clients except for the wine waiter and restaurant manager who were superb. Also there is a dress code for the restaurant which is no jeans. And jacket or tie for men, however there were obvious exceptions made for local wedding party that were traipsing through the lovely exclusive lounge all night! Overall we paid 475 for one night including the room rate. That should give you an indication of the type of costs you will incur!!

I liked everything. It is a fantastic hotel.

The staff was great, the main building very impressive and the main restaurant (Werner?) was excellent! Definitely book the main restaurant if you can afford the difference it as it is much nicer than the brasserie.

Luxurious, excellent service, a real break from the hum-drum of everyday life.

"Deluxe" room was small and "the balcony" was more like a large gutter, with a large amount of lead flashing - there was no where to sit out there and it wasn't really pleasant enough even to stand out and have a drink.

We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and loved the opulance and pampering. It was posh without being stuffy. Facilities and surroundings were fantastic. The staff were friendly professional and very courteous. Thoroughly enjoyed the weekend there and would highly recommend it. Hope to go back again.

Parkland annexe style doesn't fit main house, reception understaffed (long wait), breakfast choice ok but could be lot better!
