Peaceful envoirement Friendly staff Comfortable beds
Lack of places to eat in immediate vicinity Food prices excessive Wi virtually non existent
The general atmosphere was very welcoming Food excellent
The food and general buzz of the restaurant
Beds - big and comfy. WiFi
Stairs to bedroom had no handrail. Cooked breakfast was included and came after a long wait, but no fruit juices, no cereal, no toast offered and had to ask several times for milk for tea. Luke warm welcome from limited staff. For the cost we expected more.
The whole experience was great... A great location, great room and decor...super friendly staff....bathroom and ed, luxurious..
Delayed restaurant service....that's all
Very nice bedrooms well decorated with lovely art deco theme. Nice pub with good beers.
Internet issues during the stay so could not connect to the internet. Only a minor issue.
We had been looking forward to seeing Tyntesfield for several years, and the natural place to stay to get our visit off to a perfect start was The Battleaxes. Built in 1882 by the Gibbs family who owned the estate, it originally housed the servants who looked after the family. The architecture follows the gothic revival theme seen throughout the Tyntesfield estate from the same era. The Battleaxes is conveniently located on a main local road and has ample parking adjacent to the building. The stairs and hallways leading to today's guest rooms retains that "beneath the stairs" look, but the large rooms are modern and well equipped. They also make the best use of the building's architecture - our room had a wonderful bay window with comfy chairs. The pub below is well attended by locals, and we enjoyed two good meals there. It serves up an excellent breakfast, and staff were friendly and helpful.
We had a couple of little problems come up that were handled immediately. We did notice a small housekeeping blooper, as we found paper on the floor after the room had been serviced, and we had to ask for bathroom tissue. But for the most part our stay was fine, and we would gladly return.
We received a good welcome, we liked the atmosphere of the hotel and the food was excellent.
The king size bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was modern and spacious. Free taxi to the airport.
General appearance quite shabby. Inadequate heating.
Nothin it was like a ghost house when I see the plc wat wanted £80 and so far away in bush my fone battery was dead so I could not get to call them back so when I reach there and call no one answer it was the first time I was going to Bristol I was lost strange of to put we up for the night because I could not get a next hotel every one was book out
I did not get to stay there it was the worse plc to go I could not find it and when I did it was so for away from the train station and I reach late and no one answer the door to let me in I was from b'ham so I get lost I suffer with plc to stay thst night I will never for get that the plc was like a haunted house when I see it battle axe the worse hotel I ever see
location was good, staff were very friendly and room was very comfortable and clean
Great admosphere in hotel. Very helpful staff. Nice food and good choice for breakfast. Great 6' wide bed and large modern showerroom.
Our room was on road side; noisy in the morning.Despite blackout curtains light from front light, close to window still lit the room. Pillows far too hard for comfort!
Got a good last minute deal so our stay was a treat.
Would not have paid the full price as advertised out of our range.
I didn't expect such a big and nice room in this remote place. Also the spacious and stylish bathroom was surprising to find in the countryside of England. Good breakfast. I choose the hotel because it is not far from the Bristol airport.
a bit tricky to find the way to the airport.
Location. Then all the B's Bed, bathroom, breakfast and ease of beefing.
Very comfortable bed and delicious breakfast, would certainly return again.
Was hoping for a relaxing bath as advertised, but had to make do with a shower, which was large enough for two.
I loved the comfortable English warm and welcoming charm. The room was incredibly spacious and the ambience was serene and peaceful. The staff was few but very accommodating.
Lovely, atmospheric building with great décor and superb bathroom. Lovely bed and bedding.
Arriving late afternoon, there were no bar snacks or sandwiches available - we had to go to another pub for a bite to eat. Breakfast consisted of a cooked breakfast and tea/coffee. This was very nice, but there was no buffet table of fruit, cereal, yogurt etc. No toast and marmalade offered. I would expect this for the price.
Beautiful location, excellent food, and attentive staff.
Location is difficult to find.
Well furnished and comfortable rooms. Excellent Food. Great Staff.
Breakfast was amazing and lovely big bed
Didn't clean the room overnight which was a shame. Shower mixer was broken so was very hot!
Very friendly and a warm welcome on arrival. The staff were lovely to talk to all with smiles. Our stay was enjoyable relaxing and very easy. Thank you we will definitely recommend and use the hotel again. The breakfast was very tasty and the Battleaxes beef burger was just perfect. Very very nice!
food, facilities and excellent staff.
The location between Bristol, Clevedon and near M5 for access, thoughtfully decorated rooms, comfy bed, easy access wifi, good breakfast, nice staff
Shower and no bath but the shower room was lovely so this is not negative just a personal preference
