Lydiard House Conference Centre  

the hotel was very clean and the staff were lovely. The swimming pool was being cleaned when I arrived so the staff very kindly called me when it was ready. It was lovely and the sauna was great. The bar was nice and relaxed and the bar food good. Breakfast was good in the morning and my whole stay I felt relaxed and cared for.

Position in the park was lovely, as was the pool.

Could do with a bit of a refurb in places. I had wallpaper peeling off in my room and bathroom was very tired. However then might be out of my price range and that would be a shame as would stay again.

Staff were excellent, breakfast good.

It was like a Hall of residence, Noisy, musty smelling, slow broadband. Not particularly good value for money.

The Staff were all very welcoming and I felt at home for my entire stay. Good facilities, clean neat rooms and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Also complementary tea and coffee is the way forward, a nice touch which I know is included in the price of the event but allows for more flexibility when running an event.

I think the hotel side of things is getting a bit tired, and a small amount of money spent on things could make the world of difference. For instance new shower heads in the swimming changing rooms, as they seem to get everything wet apart from the person under it, perhaps a better shower itself and a new light in the sauna. Replacement of tiles in the bathroom of room 25. a general tidy up of other fixtures and fittings. This does sound petty but would improve the image of the facilities dramatically and would be a relatively small cost. That being said I would stay again.

My stay coincided with a major function that caused the normal menu to be suspended. The alternative offered was a barbecue to be eaten on a rather sterile room rather than the bar which was full of corporate visitors.

The Conference Centre is situated in the middle of a large park, complete with wildlife, next to the Church (no bells that we heard), so very quiet and relaxing. It also had a very nice swimming pool. Breakfast was cooked to order which meant that everything was hot and had not been waiting around.

The capability, on behalf of the staff, to personalise the service and their reliability.

Swimming pool opens too late in the morning to be able to have a swim before going to work.

Great staff always around to help and very friendly. Quality of the food but the range seems limited of late.

Maintenance of the bedrooms - very clean but for example bathrooms need fixing, improved heating and hot water in the shower, small wardrobes, beds small if used as a double

Staff was extremely helpful especially the lady at reception
