I was there two nights for a gig on the second night. I'd been through a couple of times previously and stopped briefly to visit the road end of the seafront, so this was the first proper stay. Unfortunately the weather was wet, windy and cold but I saw enough from just walking around to know that it would be a good (quaint) place to visit for longer and to take in some of the local attractions based around the fossils found in the area.

A lively, bustling quintessential British seaside resort.
A lively, bustling quintessential British seaside resort. Almost too busy on sunny summer days, but lively and fun for everyone. Lots of lovely scrummy places to eat, jolly pubs, many summer events, and the same jolly atmosphere at Christmas time too - lights, carols around the Christmas tree, etc ! But…..Prepare to pay a lot for parking! Or arrive by train to Axminster and catch the bus to the centre of Lyme from the station. Shop at Ammonite Fine Foods for holiday presents - (disclosure …my sister owns it !)

We have visited Lyme Regis many times.
We have visited Lyme Regis many times. We enjoy walking through the gardens and around the harbour. The town is quite steep and cobbled so not for infirm or elderly. We ate in our favourite pub The Royal Standard. They have a friendly atmosphere and pool table. Food is delicious there. Also Badger and Beach is friendly and makes lovely coffee.

A very busy village even in the off season...so be prepared for lots of people. Well worth visiting...great food at the local restaurants and the views and walks are wonderful. Wish I could have further explored the area.

Lovely selection of shops, pubs and restaurants within easy walking distance if somewhat hilly! Unfortunately at the time of our visit some roads into the town centre were closed making access by car difficult. Also one walk planned along the river Lim to Uplyme was not possible again due to the footpath being closed. However, still plenty of coastal walks to choose from.

Lyme was beautiful, plenty of independent shops, with great pubs and restaurants. We especially liked the walk along the promenade and out onto the Cobb, (a bit scary). Some of the pubs and restaurants had great views over the sea. We particularly liked the Volunteer , the food was home cooked and delicious, the Cobb, was another favourite for sitting outside having a drink overlooking the harbour. There are plenty of shopping opportunities, fossil shops selling beautiful jewellery, (I had to be dragged away!) . All in all even though we had some days of rain, we had a great time.
We stayed in the Anning room, it was a lovely spacious room with a fabulous sea view and lovely modern bathroom. It had lovely touches in the room like bottles of water, as well as tea and coffee making facilities, another lovely touch was being able to have fresh milk instead of long life milk. The property also had ample parking and was within walking distance (approx 10 mins) to the centre of Lyme Regis.
We would definitely return to St Andrews House B&B if we were ever in Lyme Regis in the future, and highly recommend it.
Lovely room with a glorious view, and with plenty of options for eating and drinking. However, most things in Lyme Regis close at 5pm, so only the big chain stores (Tesco for example) are available.
It is also worth noting, that there is also a lot on offer for all diets and requirements in the town.
No complaints about the accomodation itself.
Very happy with our stay here. Very friendly helpful hosts, parking at the back of the hotel which is a real bonus in Lyme Regis, lovely breakfast. Location worked well for us as we were happy to walk in and out of town, though be aware it is uphill coming back! Would recommend and would stay here again.
Beautiful, clean, and cozy apartment less than 10 minutes walk from the beach. Lyme Regis has been on my bucket list for a while, and this apartment was perfect for me to relax and unwind as a solo traveller for the weekend. Owners provided cute extras as well. Highly recommend.
The property and hosts exceeded our expectations. A very comfortable room for the night with great hosts that made sure all their guests were accommodated to the highest standard. We'll look forward to using this property again when we visit Lyme Regis.
The location is good for getting to places - right in the heart of Lyme Regis. Welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch which we weren’t expecting. Easy access with the key safe. Nice to have the parking space permit for free parking during our stay.
Beautiful hotel with plush fittings. Attentive and friendly hosts. Peaceful location a short distance to Lyme Regis. Excellent breakfast. Welcomed our dog and treated with respect. Fenced area for dogs to have a decent run. Highly recommend.
Brilliant location. Practically next door to the best bakery in town, just a few steps to the beach and the shops. The accommodation itself was comfy and it was a great base for our time in Lyme Regis. And it comes with parking!!
An excellent location in the lovely sea side town of Lyme Regis, with the sea close by and the Jurassic museum behind the hotel. All of the staff encountered were polite smart and helpful. Breakfast was fresh and well made.
Homely, comfortable and well equipped apartment, a short walk from the centre of Lyme Regis. The hosts have thought of everything to make you feel at home, with flowers on the table and a welcome cream tea.
The view from window was lovely. The room was nicely furnished and spacious.
Great to find an hotel with a car park in Lyme Regis.
Very friendly staff.
Pleasant short walk to main shops or beach.
Excellent and plentiful continental breakfast. Location with parking just 1.5 miles outside Lyme Regis. Lovely walk by river into the town. Welcoming and friendly hosts. Lovely garden to sit in.
The hotel is in a convenient central location with easy access to all the amenities of Lyme Regis, but also ideally placed to visit other areas of Dorset and Devon.
Comfortable room, except for for heating issues noted below. Friendly, helpful staff; good location within easy walking distance of Lyme Regis attractions.
