Location was good. Just a short walk to the centre of town without being too noisy. The 'hotel'/B&B actually turned out to be a hostel. Our room was a bit stuffy at night. The facilities were a bit old and there was 2 bathrooms between about 15 people so in the morning, it was incredibly difficult to get to the bathroom. There are certain times at night when you could not use the shower (cause it'll disturb the other guests) so it wasn't the most pleasant stay for us.

The owner was helpful and very nice. The breakfast was also really good. It took us a while to get in to the b&b as it had been left unattended during the time when we were able to check in. Also having to share bathrooms is not great. The rest of the staff were not very helpful to me.

Greg was very obliging and looked after us well at breakfast. He runs a family business that becomes a home away from home. The close proximity to Queen Street and the Royal Mile was certainly an advantage.

The owner was very friendly and attentive. The location was very near the city centre and very good for our purpose. The shower rooms were a little on the small side and required some dexterity to get in and out of.

The staff were excellent as was the food. The rooms were ok but they are in need of refurbishment. There are no ensuite facilities and there queues for the toilets.

Staff very pleasant and helpful; breakfast excellent Layout of our room - family room with beds squashed in at any angle to enable a 4 sleeper resulting in no further space for moving around; room had obviously been divided as was evidence by the dry wall we shared with the room next door resulting in us hearing the conversation of the couple in the room next to ours; showers (which we had to share) were so small that one could not get undressed in the shower room because it was impossible to open the door to the shower cubicle once in the room - this required one to disrobe in the bedroom and make your way to the shower in your towel, with the real possibility of bumping into fellow house guests.

The personal treatment by the proprietor makes you feel like at home. Greg is a very kind person and he and his wife really care about offering the best services. The hotel is very clean, the showers are excellent and breakfast is good also.

The propieters were extremely friendly. Even made me a veggie breakfast without me asking once I'd said I was vegetarian. Lovley 200 year old building, maintained with period furiture and lovely nic-nacs. Really enjoyed our night here.

Very friendly staff with a warm welcome Very cluttered and busy decor. We had an oddly shaped overfull room. The partitioning was so crude that the ceiling rose was actually cut in half. Must be very difficult to keep clean- not sure how the bed could have been moved to clean underneath it. Windowsill dirty and in need of painting. Expensive for what it was.

The owners of the hotel were very friendly and helpful, they made it feel just like home. We had everything we needed during our stay and the owners were always approachable. The location was perfect for the event we went to see at the Playhouse, as well as a good place for a spot of shopping close by. Breakfast was cooked to perfection with endless cups of tea. We wouldn't have changed a thing. I would recommend Lyncliff highly and we will certainly be visiting again if we are in the area again.
