Lyncliff Hotel - B&B

The staff is very nice and helpful anf the room is small but very comfortable. This is suitable for families or travellers who want some privacy.

The staff were lovely and extremely kind

The hotel was extremely poor, the room was cold and only a flat panel radiator which offered no heat was available. The showers were tiny and you couldn't move in them and the whole place seemed dirty and tired.

The price/value and city center location were excellent. The attention we received from the owner and his wife - who are also the staff - was equally excellent. In addition to their attentiveness and helpfulness, they also provided an excellent complete English breakfast every morning - and even did so early on the day of our departure as we had an early flight and would not have been able to make the normal breakfast time. There is also a computer available for any guest to use if you didn't bring your own. We had a wonderful time.

People who book this hotel need to understand that it is run like a bed and breakfast - as its name indicates. This means no en-suite bathrooms. That was not a problem for us, but it appears as a problem for some people in some reviews we have seen. Typical of many places in the UK, some things could be a bit tight. While this was not a problem for us, it could be a potential concern for someone of a larger build.

Selon moi, le prix est trop élevé par rapport au niveau de confort, même pour une grande ville au Royaume-Uni.

Die Lage und das Flair dieses kleinen Familienhotels sind einfach kaum zu überbieten. Wer es luxoriös haben muss ist hier falsch - dafür ist es mit dem aus dem 19. Jahrhundert stammenden Baustil (Stuckdecken, dicke Mauern, Erker und Steinmauergarten) absolut Edinburgh- typisch.
