Vicinity to Heathrow. Secure car park. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast in the morning
The setting of the hotel and the walks around it.
Location and a lovely evening meal with excellent service. Comfortable room and helpful staff.
Noisy fan in bathroom. Very disappointed in breakfast. Lovely sausage, but that was it. Seemed like bacon, tomato and mushrooms were microwaved - no colour or flavour. No hash brown - only get one with the veggie breakfast! Big let down after dinner
Lovely evening meal in the hotel. Glad we didn't go out. Staff very attentive.
It was a nice quiet place
We had the chalet room was a bit damp
The room is big and clean.
No safe box
A lovely friendly hotel in a picturesque setting.Value for money. Will definitely return
Full English breakfast was lovely but wasnt alot of choice and quite small portions
Very helpful and pleasant staff. The main hotel was very nice with various seating areas and lovely big light dining room where they served a very nice breakfast. Made our dog very welcome as we stayed in a chalet. Good for my husband who is disabled as there was a shower. Loved the white linen both in towels and all bed linen.
Room a bit on the small side but not really a problem
Nice breakfast. Quiet area. Lovely staff.
Didn't have any record of my booking therefore the superior room i had booked a month prior had been allocated to someone else. This was a mistake on booking.cons behalf or so i was told by lyncombe. Stayed in a standard room for the first night then was moved to superior. To be honest I would have preferred the standard as in superior my shower leaked bad, so much so the bar staff rang to my room to complain. There was no view from balcony though to be fair not the hotels fault as that was due to trees. Had no blind on bathroom window and was told it shouldnt matter as the lodge was secluded....... I was more worried the other guests would notice. Ten pound off my stay and an apology for not having my reservation. I thought this was ok until I read another review that this had happened before with superior room. Through all this though I could not fault the staff they were lovely.
I liked the peace and quiet, the evening meal was very tasty and you could tell it was freshly prepared and localy produced, the room was spacious and clean with large bathroom and nice décor, staff was very polite, on the Friday evening good humoured and in the morning a very nice lady that served us. overall a very enjoyable experience.
when I booked I was under the impression that we would be staying in a chalet overlooking woodland and the mendip hills. instead we got a nice room in the hotel, over looking the dry ski slope, with families and general people skiing. we later found out that the so called chalet rooms were booked up, but we wasn't disappointed when we saw what they looked like.1 large stone chalet with 4 very small rooms divided up. I think we got the better room, but they shouldn't mislead people on there website into thinking they are actualy going to get a nice wood chalet with lovely views.
The hotel was clean and the breakfast was good
The location was quite dreary and the decor was in need of an update.
Location, friendliness, food, value for money
Very quiet and good views
Too many niggly things that spoilt the stay - the curtains were difficult to close, the toilet roll holder had broken off and not been replaced, the bathroom floor (vinyl) hadn't been fitted properly, no shower gel - well, you get the idea.
Quiet location in woodland surroundings close to Cheddar and Wells.
Breakfast could be better.
The Lodge's charm and idilic woodland setting. Plus situated next door to Mendip Ski Centre and close to attractions such as Weston-Super-Mare, Chedder Gorge and Wooky hole.
Peace and quiet. Away from main roads. Up on a hill. Plenty of wildlife.
Good sized room good wifi
Didn't get room requested country room. Which was great shame they looked really nice could have recommended .
Location and well stocked bar.
Some sort of machinery running of and on alnight
Pleasant location. Good food. Nice staff. Very quiet. Would stay here again, but not in a chalet.
Very poor shower in chalet. Felt rather dark inside and smelled of damp. Partner found bed uncomfortable his side.
The friendliness of the staff and their service; fabulous breakfast; the quality of the decor and toiletries.
Friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and comfortable with good facilities.
Staff and breakfast were brilliant although breakfast serving finished at 8:45 am
Room smelt musty. Cobwebs in the corners and light shades that date back a year or two. Really needs refurbishing. Breakfast finished at 8:45
Good location and room
A lot of show around the restaurant but food was quite poor. A rubbery sausage for breakfast.
staff were friendly and courteous, clean room, nice location, nice food.
wifi signal in my room was poor.
