Rooms and the grounds are really nice. Rooms and bed seemed clean and well presented
Hotel is a bit tired and breakfast is a bit of a luck dip regarding how nice it is - one day good one day not so good. Beds are a bit springy and need to offer more support.
Really dated and run down
electric in room very poor and not complying with regulations (room 301) unprotected surface wireing to sockets and dressing table lights.
position great for exploring N/forest
building looking a bit run down
The location is ideal, and the place in general was good, cannot comment on meals only breakfast which was fine.
The whole place was in need of some attention and overdue decoration, decor, building and furnishings showing wear and tear from a lot of use, bathroom especially in need of attention.
The rooms were shabby and the breakfast was cold. Presentation of the food was not nice. Thw staff could be more cheerful and there was not many staff I in the morning to help you.. I would of enjoyed my stay in the new forest if the hotel was better. Just glad I did not pay the full price.
the sausages for breakfast and help yourself coffee machine at breakfast time.
not many staff around at breakfast time, hotel was very shabby needed rdecorating or pulling down and rebuilding. furniture was very old and tatties couldn't shut the wardrobe doors, lots more about tell me where do i stop.
mostly good some parts scruffy
Room clean and spacious breakfast excellent
Hotel in general maybe a bit tired looking just a reprint would help
Location and friendly staff.
Hotel very dated and tired looking. Carpets, furniture need replacing. Needs full redecoration inside and outside. Its a shame as its in a prime location for the New Forest.
Friendly staff, big room, nice facilities, great location
Loved breakfast, not so keen on evening meal
the hotel was in a perfect location the bedroom was very comfortable the staff were lovely especially the breakfast staff. good selection of breakfast the shops and a fab Italian restaurant was a few minutes away on foot .
I found I didn't have good light when trying to do my makeup in the mirror
The staff couldn't be more helpful and polite, a true credit to the hotel.
It wasn't clean! The rooms were dirty. The linen was clean however the towels were not changed once. The room was not hoovered once either. The hotel could really use a refurb too its a beautiful place and these things let it down
The location of the hotel is perfect, we were able to walk into Lyndhurst, which meant we didn't have to pay for separate parking. Nice little onsite bar with a pool table, fairly nice garden and pool, breakfast was included in the price of the room.
Dogs were in the room next door, barking at 10.30 at night, the quality of the room we stayed in wasn't the best and the bathroom really needed a makeover.
Large room. Bright & light, with lovely view of garden. Breakfast was very good & in lovely conservatory overlooking gardens. Ideal location for our one night stop.
Hotel is being redecorated & is old & tired- looking in places.
clean bed clothing
peeling paint and tired furniture
The situation of the Hotel close to the forest. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good value.
The rooms could do with a major makeover . The décor was outdated and the carpet in our room was threadbare in places. There was a problem with the lift during our stay. The windows in the front of the hotel could do with being double glazed to cut down on traffic noise.
Great view from our bedroom over back lawn /pool area. Big room with comfortable double bed and plenty of storage. Controllable heating on cool evening. Quiet room.
Decoration needs updating. Bathroom needs refurbish.
Location was very good and would be the main reason for returning.
The double beds were tiny, I hardly slept the whole time I was there.
Close to the centre of Lyndhurst
Hotel is rather grubby and tired.
Food was good
Very dated smell of damp in corridors.Toilets in reception terrible.
Location & staff
A bit rundown carpets, decoration etc
Breakfast was very nice and the staff were polite. The location is excellent. A short walk away the high street and other eating places. Also the forest was close in the other direction.
The hotel is a bit run down and is in need of some tlc. Mould on the ceiling and a damp smell in some places. We had to change rooms first of all because of a broken and botched bed. The decor is a bit dated.
Ideal location for forest Easy walk into Lyndhurst centre Good breakfast and friendly staff
Efforts being made to bring hotel up to date but still some areas looked tired and dated
Local was excellent
room was in need of modernisation
