Excellent location and breakfast. It was my girlfriend's birthday and I'm pretty sure she thinks less of me as a result staying in this hotel. Without doubt the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in - damp on the ceilings - window would not close - decor / bed linen / bathroom would probably have been just about acceptable 15 years ago. Pound for pound I have never felt more 'done' in my entire life.

The service at reception was courteous, efficient and welcoming. This was the case on check-in, check-out and when making enquiries about local services. Clearly the hotel needs refurbishment, especially on the outside approaches which are grim to behold. In both the rooms and the common areas too although they were still comfortable, however that did not cause any particular dislike. I didn't like the way we were given a table in the darkest part of the breakfast room when there were tables available in the lighter areas of the conservatory and front salon which were empty but had just not been cleaned up. The words used were "I haven't got any clean ones in there", well get someone to set about cleaning them then!!

The bedroom was extremely clean and the bed was probably the most comfortable I have experienced The wholeof the interior of the hotel was very well presented The exterior of the hotel is in urgent need of a lick of paint. Unfortunately the first impression of the hotel does not do justice to the interior and the standard of service

The location was excellent as was our particular room and associated facilities, which was a relief after reading some reviews on the Hotel. The food was surprisingly good, evening mealswell presented and the breakfast enormous! Staff were helpful and efficient. External refurbishment required to improve first impressions and some common areas could do with some attention, in particular the corridor on the first floor leading to the 100's bedrooms , which smelt of damp.

None, absolutely disappointed and disgusted! Advertisement is misleading. In our experience this hotel is far from your description aside from being accessible to the New Forest!

The rooms were tired and needed decorating, There were thread bare carpets and out of the 4 rooms that we all stayed in two of the bathrooms were covered in mould. The staff were most un helpfull and in some cases very rude. The chairs in the rooms looked like they had pee stains on them. All in all it has to be the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. Location wise it was perfect but thats all.

Not a lot the hotel is old not very clean it could do with some decorating/renovating inside and certainly outside. Had to use the downstairs toilet to my regret it was a very nasty experience. 3 or 4 huge industrial rolls of paper non in the dispenser and on the wet floor and the toilet bowl was filthy. Will not use it again.I Have just booked 3 day break through you at the swan hotel in Stafford and hoping it is a better hotel specially the Executive double room.

The location was ideal for the wedding we were going to. We asked for an early check in as we had a wedding to go to. This did not happen. The normal check in time was 2pm and only one room was ready meaning we had to get ready in our friends room in 15 mins. I feel that the hotel and staff could have been more accommodating as I had phoned in advanced for an early check in. If I knew they couldn't accommodate this then I would have probably booked some where else.

We were very disappointed with the quality of the hotel,it was very tired and needed a complete revamping. The reception staff were very helpful but the rest of the staff were abrupt and unhelpful enough for us to cut our stay and find alternative accommodation

The hotel is in a lovely location with wild New Forest ponies roaming outside. The rooms were bright and sunny with traditional English decore. The swimming pool was under construction so we couldn't use it and the stairs were a bit of a workout. Some aspects of the rooms were a bit tired looking and our bed wasn't very comfortable (old thin lumpy mattress).

I booked two nights at this hotel as a surprise for my husbands 60th birthday. On arrival, the entrance and bar, including restaurants, were very clean and tidy. However, on entering the room, we were both very disappointed in the outdated decor. The carpet was threadbare in places, and very stained along with the chairs. I had paid £216.00 for a family room, but was given a premier room instead. I thought the family room would be more like a small suite, considering the price. When we were given the room keys, we noticed that room no.26 Had been crossed out, and it was no.9 Instead. On the first night, I was kept awake by noisy guests who insisted on being noisy either by talking and laughing, or by slamming doors. On the Saturday, there was a wedding party and some of these guests kept both my husband and myself awake until four o' clock the next morning. All this spoilt the surprise for my husband, and I was totally disappointed, especially with the amount of money we had paid.

The staff were very Nice and the breakfast was amazing, waiting staff excellent! The rooms were a bit rough round the edges, not the standard I expected for the cost. The swimming pool was out of use which is the main reason I picked this hotel and have seen it has been out of use for some time.

Location was ideal for walking, cycling through the new forest. Central for a trip in to southhampton if you like shopping, visiting Beaulie car museum. Service was always polite could'nt fault food even if you only have breakfast, plenty of choice. The downside is Hotel feels in need of a lot of love and attention inside and out. There is also a fusty smell and signs of damp problems. The lift could do with being replaced far too small and out dated. Also no warning the pool was out of use.

The hotel is relaxing and the staff are great. They still have the bath water problem - it still doesn't run out very quickly-, but that's a minor hiccup. My husband & I have never slept so well, eat so well and had so much fresh air. We will be going back there again as we always feel so relaxed when we leave, we recomend the Lyndhurst Park Hotel to our friends and plus being right next door to the New Forest is a added bonus. The bath water still takes along time to empty in room 1 even though my husband did inform reception, when we were at the hotel last year. Also my husband & I are coffee drinkers,so please change the coffee from Nescafe to Kenco Rich. Nescafe is very strong & bitter, you need 3 of the small milk cartons to even try to stop it looking like tar, and then the coffee is cold then you need 2 sugars in the cup to take the bitter taste away. I drank alot of coffee while I was there and I'm afraid I didn't enjoy any of them I had at the hotel.

Location and the fact that it has a room available; breakfast was ok and most things seemed to work Totally worn out hotel - duck tape holdig carpet together, paint peeling off walls, 70's decor throughout and very dated rooms. Servive was atrocious - almost two hours for a 2 course bar meal, and barman kept channel ficking the bar tv throughout (at high volume) between different sports programs. Would rather sleep in the car next time.

We loved where the hotel was situated near the high street and the new forest and easy for site seeing. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay We had a second floor room which was fine but the lift facility was terrible so we ended walking up and down the stairs which was not good at our age. We also found the eveing meal in the restaurant was a very limited menu and we did eat on the saturday night not worth the money. The bar snacks were better

We stayed at this hotel for a friends wedding, and the weekend was lovely. Clean rooms, and comfortable beds. On phoning to enquire about room availability for changing before the wedding, the receptionist was exceptional in her help and advice. The hotel decor, both inside and outside, was very tired. The hotel staff were not as attentive as maybe they could have been during service of breakfast in particular.
